    According to Christmas RTE Guide there will be no play TV on the night of December 24 and 25, an on December 31.

    Back again on January 1. Imagine having to spend new years in eastern europe.

    What also gave a little giggle is the RTE guide people got the TV3 and UTV schedule mixed up for Stephen's day

    Any four letter word using the letters by reading along the lines
    PLE
    USA
    RES

    Edit: Every caller seems to have won something. calls are quite regular, but how long will that last.

    She starting to waffle now, open line getting harder to find me thinks. which is a pity as the more calls they take, the more callers would be generated.

    ~~~~~
    Ahem: it does appear but from Random House (USA) dict.
    al⋅ure  /ˈælyʊər, -yər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [al-yoor, -yer]
    –noun a passageway, as the walk along one side of a cloister.
    Fiona: Are you over 18?
    Allison: Yes.
    Fiona: How old are you?
    Allison: 18
    Fiona: What's your date of birth?
    Allison (slowly): 24th December 1991
    There followed a short discussion between production and Fiona.
    End result: You're nearly 18 but rules are rules!
    Agreed.
    This would have been the ideal night for my cable to be 'down'.
    This game could have been the best one they have ran, were it not for the long intervals between calls.
    she just gave away a possible answer.
    Allison's parents will surely be mortified when they find out about this, if they haven't found out already.
    I'm wondering that myself....that's a lot of money to let one person win in such a short space of time. And it sure is not like them to be so generous. It's very interesting!
    I'd say she's picked to win alot, so when TV3 are getting grilled again in the future, they can turn around and say "we've had one caller that has won multiple times and claimed thousands of euros in prize money".
    Of course it's rubbish that gives a false impression, but it's a good sound-bite. Win Win on the PR side for them, and costs them nothing as they'd be giving it away anyway.
    There could never be a "purely random" selection for calls - they would have to have some control over them.
    They get thousands of calls every night - no way one caller could be that fortunate.
