By which I mean "'Tis the season when Joe Duffy annually sends somebody into the shops so he can be outraged and surprised when somebody tells him on air about it." We're on High Joe Duffy Alert.

It's tricky. We have to weigh up Joe Bloody Duffy against the fact that almost every single time we say no to a kid, their parents come into the shop and eat the head off us afterwards.

The same folks who ring Joe to complain about it afterwards, too, I'll bet you anything.

where I used to work, we had a "Joe Duffy proofread" where when we replyed to consumer complaints, we had to make sure we didn't basically tell them to f-off in a nice way si it couldn't come back to bite the company.

Surely the content of school history books is far worse than the content of a video game.

Unless they arent teaching children the truth of what went on in ancient Sparta, Egypt, Rome or during the conquest of Africa, America, Asia and Polynesia or any of the large wars of the 20th century ...

Call Joe and tell him that our schools are filling our childrens heads with violent imagery that could turn them into "young people with issues around stabbing" (the pc term for murderers).

FFS, over on the Dexter forum, there's a story about a guy in the States who flat out blames the programme for his desire to kill his brother. Whatever happened to personal responsibility or just plain crazy.

my arm was perfectly fine the day i got it but when i woke up the next morning twas pretty sore to raise it

If you aren't in the vulnerable categories, you may as well, just don't spread it, take a few days off, play shotgun and knife modern warfare for a bit.

Supposedly the side effects of the vaccine only last 1 day whereas the actual flu last for a week.

My missus had to get it as she works in a Hospital and she had the effects for 3 days, sureness, stiffness, cant lie on one side of your body etc., ive been told by the D-doc ive had the flu twice over the last few months., go in there with a headache and you'll be diagnosed with swine flu.,lol

Yeah I got it last week. My arm was sore the next day and I felt a bit achy but it was damn sight better than getting a dose of swine flu! Funny thing was I didn't feel the needle at all - I was actually convinced the nurse hadn't done it!

No 'small prick' wise cracks please!;)

Mostly, I have to say I can be a bit slapdash about enforcing the age rating. One 18 game is not the same as the other - I'd be more careful about selling Saw or Manhunt than I would Grand Theft Auto, for instance. It's one thing to permit sadistic violence in a videogame, I think it's something else entirely to encourage it or make it an unavoidable gameplay mechanic. In the latter case, I think context is important, and younger players aren't always in a position to view it with that kind of lens.

Obviously, I don't think videogames are going to churn out a bunch of serial killers or superheroes or X Wing pilots or whatever. All that concerns me is the prospect of exposing kids to something shocking or disturbing at a point when they're not quite capable of framing it properly. Doesn't have to be violence, if I had my way I'd burn down whatever crap factory churns out the Imagine Babies titles too.

Well i just had a horrible week there, and in the weekly fear enducing email from DCU about swine flu, it turns out i had pretty much every symptom they described, i just passed it as a normal flu, totttttttttally forgetting about this swine aspect of it.

All i took was one day off, because i physically couldn't get out of bed, ended up in a heap on the landing.

Then was in everyother day...

Then to top it all off, i spent Sunday in MAC, getting soaked in the cold.

And I feel better already
