According to the paper, "Payment for Sex in a Macaque Mating Market," published in the December issue of Animal Behavior, males in a group of about 50 long-tailed macaques in Indonesia, traded grooming services for sex with females; researchers, who studied the monkeys for some 20 months, found that males offered their payment up-front, as a kind of pre-sex ritual. It worked. After the females were groomed by male partners, female sexual activity more than doubled, from an average of 1.5 times an hour to 3.5 times.

Quite possibly. When I was 12 I was brought to Dublin zoo. My mum went off to the loo.

I chucked 3 bananas into the cage and the cheeky monkey went down on me.

They even gave them a choice; 2 coins for their favourite food, one coin for their least favourite food. The coins were kept in a seperate room. The monkey would walk in and take a coin and give it away in favour of some food. After months of research the monkeys well knew the value of the coins. Some monkeys would keep the coins until they were hungry.

Then one day, a monkey went into the room where the coins were kept. He robbed all the coins (robbery) and rain out into the common room where the rest of the monkeys were lounging (jail break). He then proceed to give out coins to the other monkeys and they went in and exchanged their coins for food. Thou one male monkey was spotted giving a coin to a female monkey and after a few minutes he proceeded to have sex with the female monkey (prostitution). So there monkeys have be seen to pay for sex.

BTW Thats a true story.
