    Hi,

Another company has registered a business name very similar to mine.

EG Blah Blah School of Motoring and Blah Blah Driving School. It's an area name so both covering the same neighbourhoods.

Is there anything I can do to get them to change their business name?

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there is nothing stopping people from registering identical or very similar business names. It's a bit different with LTDs

Yes and further to Blacknight - If you have an issue and the services you have stand to be damaged as a result of the other business, there is remedial relief you can get at cost.

    Solicitor.

Thank you for your replies. I think it is time to talk to my solicitor - times are hard enough without having to contend with my business being confused with another one up the road.

If you have registered a trademark you can enforce it.

Else you can sue for passing off if you can show you've accrued goodwill in that name.
