Hi Lexus, are you aware that this is not the investment arm of Barclays? These are holding accounts for PI's.

PS. Good start on a GKP discussion thread. Are you holding?

    Hi mate,

Yeah I'm holding Gulf Keystone, Petroceltic, Aminex and Petroneft. There is rumours of another RNS tomorrow, fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭joe123

They did well today considering the whole market did terrible. Imagine having got in on these when they were 12p.

By the way if any of you want live shareprices instead of the usual 15 minute delayed ones check www.shareprice.co.uk its free and all you have to do is register.

Would love to find the next GKP. MTA potentially could be very good. If I had funds id get in on them.

Noticed your in Petroceltic. Im in these too at 17.3p and they did shockingly bad today. Think they might retrace further but hopefully by April next year im expecting them to be 30p and over. What are your thoughts on them?

Im still holding 20305 shares in GKP. Its a fantastic looking company for 2010. Also a serious takeover target.

Also i wouldnt believe all the rubbish about an RNS today. The DGA final report will not be ready for another week or two IMO. HOLD

Up 10% today after a hammering last few days. TK the CEO Announced on an interview on CNN this morning that the shekian 1 could potentially have 10-15 Billion barrels!

This company are unstoppable with the flow of great news.

Yeah I bought in at 13 cents :) I think its a good solid company and undervalued considering the massive gas find earlier this year.

    Heres the thread

As above 20305. I held over 50k at one stage but I topped sliced at 90p and 112p during the last big peak. Holding these now for a few year to reap the rewards.

I will probably live to regret the top slice but I don't mind.

Lexus or any other poster I would be interested in your views on Providence resources? Do you think they will ever make it big

Thanks in advance for any replies

    Hi John,

Providence is currently making a loss and has a lot of debt, in saying that it has a 40% stake in Irelands only gas operational storage facility. For that reason alone this is definately a long term buy.

I will be investing in this company in the new year.

Another company i'm looking at is Desire Petroleum due to its interest in the Falkand Islands.

People should be aware that this stock ( Gulf keystone) is being tipped on www.iii.co.uk chat forums. This is generally a bad sign suggesting that there is a lot of pump in the price. This stock will be very volatile over the next month as whoever is pumping it up on that forum starts dumping.

This is a risky stock as its a small cap but its appearance as one of the hot topics being discussed on iii is a worry.

A lot of the info on this thread has come from iii chatrooms

What rubbish. My info hasn't. My info has come from a solid investment. So If you believe this stock is not worth investing due to a pumped price I suggest you elaborate. I have had a 10x return on my investment over 6 months and continue to hold this stock on the fundamentals.

I am very aware that stocks can be pumped, this stock is heading one way and if you would take time out to research the facts you would understand why its a hot topic on III.

What information are you talking about?

    The RNS ?

I dont think iii chat rooms are responsible for the RNS. Obviously you dont know what an RNS is :D:D:D:D

I'll explain it, its a Regulatory News Service
The London Stock Exchanges service that ensures that price sensitive information from listed companies, and certain other bodies, is disseminated to all RNS subscribers at the same time.

    CNN Video?

Did'nt realise iii chatrooms took over CNN :D:D:D:D:D

Really stressed that was an embarrassing post.

    Smcgie, I'd ignore him.

I don't like having to do modding on a Sunday afternoon, but this thread needed it.

Really-Stressed: stop acting the dick. You're well aware what I mean; you can make your points in a less inflammatory manner. Others: don't accuse people of trolling.

The rns feed and the link to the cnn interview were posted in the iii chat room also.

I am not acting the d*ck. I am sick of this forum being filled with pump from iii.

Who are you to say what can and can not be posted on this site?

And yes your posts are embarrassing as you clearly have no idea what you talking about.

Why do you continually edit and re-edit your posts, changing your story and comments?

I believe that if you present 'research' on a share you should say where it comes from. ( BRING BACK IBID!!)

I dont find my posts embarrassing at all. But i do feel that people looking for investment ideas who read this should be made aware that a certain stock is being hyped in another forum as it adds risk.

Ok so we cant use sources of information as research if its posted any where on the internet. Is that what you mean?

There is 2 sources of information on this discussion thread one came from an RNS and the other came for CNN. Please see explanation for both above in my post.

    30 November 2009
    Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd.
    ("Gulf Keystone" or "the Company")
    Director Purchase of Shares
Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited (AIM: GKP) announces that on the 27th November 2009 Jeremy Asher, a non-executive director of the Company, purchased 2,000,000 common shares in the Company ("Common Shares") (representing approximately 0.41% of the issued share capital) at an average price of 94p per share, through Agile Energy Limited ("Agile Energy").
Agile Energy is a Channel Islands company owned by the Asher Family Trust, of which Jeremy Asher is the settler and lifetime beneficiary.
Following the purchase, Agile Energy has a beneficial interest in 14,000,000 Gulf Keystone shares, representing approximately 2.9% of the Company's issued share capital. Agile Energy has also notified the Company that it has agreed to pledge its entire beneficial interest in the Company as part of the security package for a revolving credit facility to be provided to the Asher Family Trust. There is no change in Agile Energy's overall shareholding in the Company, and it continues to have an interest in 14,000,000 Common Shares representing approximately 2.9% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Directors buying more shares (even though they bought tons at 6p) This has to be the share of the century! :D

    Jeremy Asher - 12,000000 BUY @ 6.25p
    Jeremy Asher - 2,000000 BUY @ 97p

Shows how confident the directors are!

The only answer you will get in this thread is higher than 90.

You might as well as a ask an umberella salesman does he think it will rain this year.

Hi Buffy, here's an honest answer from someone who has invested in this share since the 10p levels (not a smart arse reply as above). If we knew what the SP would be in a years time then we would be very well off - But we don't

The best advice is to look through presentations and the company website to see for yourself and make your own mind up.

    My opinion:

They have drilled 1 well in total with a 25% working interest and this has increased their market cap from about $60million to $600million. I am waiting for the other 3 wells to be drilled and tested before i sell a single share.

ps. They have a 40% working interest in the biggest structured well. For me to sell now i would be eating a crap apple instead of waiting for the golden delicious ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭MrMatisse

I wouldnt put to much emphasis on company presentations. They will be positive.

No major institution has any interest in this company. The investors are all punters on the street putting in 5k or there abouts. That is an important point to note.

    Hi Smcgie

Do you have 5300 shares in this stock. Is that the correct figure.?

That would give you a substanstial profit of half a million pounds on a 50,000 pound investment.

I might consider taking half and looking at other investments. Gulf Key share price seems to move at a good but fair pace and so it might do no harm to invest elsewhere while you await the news of the new drills.

Also 2010 might see another double dip. Some industries are already stating that they might see a double dip. So I would be cautious.

1000% gain in this industry is alot. It is a 2000 % gain for other people though so bear that in mind. You would be hard put to make a 100% profit from where the share price is now, i have no doubt its more than possible but its a hard slog from here. However there are stocks that will easily give you 100% as well as some finacials at 52 week lows.

There are lots of very nice stocks about and some cheap. SEED is a lovely pick and bottomed today with a 30% jump to get it going and also there are some nice chinese stocks although i just read an article from Hong Kong about real estate expecting a double dip this year over there.

Also some nice tech stocks. You have to be realistic even if you get a 100% gain from here with gulf key your very unlikely to see another 100%. On the other hand there are stocks that are reaping generous returns. Lots of financials at 52 week low that promise 2- 300 % returns over a short term.
