Yeah thats true. I was reading your other post and you did mention Barr and Segal a good while ago. There is plenty of logic to back it as well. In Segals case he has more time and can pick his races on PWE, and if I remember rightly you said Barr was excellent at the Jumps. Leaving out Collier and Williams would have saved 15 points last month and leaving Segals tips in the paper would have saved 16.4 points as well.

Does anyone know mel collier's numbers in the last few months is it negative cos with the above posts im seriously considering not betting on collier's selections. I know in October though he got 2 winners in one night, but even if it was only 1 winner that night it would've been a once off right?

Heres the October figures. Mel gave 2 winners and 10 losers in October. In November he 0 winners and 10 losers. The problem is sods law. If you stop betting him he will get a few winners. I stopped betting Colliers and missed his two winners, but it made no difference really because he gaves so many losers. He is Minus 10 points at SP on his last 22 bets.

absolutely disgraceful! horse 4L back at the very start and jockey brought it wide all race. being layed a huge amount before the race. i really have to wonder if there is some sort of foul play here

I have to agree with you. It was another one that was suddenly layed just before the off. Even the bookies pushed it out from 7/2 to 5/1 and it was never at any stage put in the race.

they even said it on the racingpost commentary that there was serious laying going on before the race! they questioned what was going on themselves. it has to be one of the biggest flops these guys have given us

It would be interesting if you or I were connected to the horse and knew it had little or no chance. All of a sudden thousands of people want to back it. It must be tempting for the connections who are in the know to take the free money.
There is a definite pattern when the horses are suddenly layed for large money just before the off. I cant remember any of them winning.

a good idea mike but do ye think the bookies will open it up a lot shorter than it should be now?

6.5 this morning, so hardly changed.

Apparently there's an Anteposte Pricewise bet in The King George which I think is on Boxing day at Kempton. The only cut is Madison De Berlais.

Are there pricewise's at Fairyhouse today does anybody know in the paper ?

it was 11/2 when i backed it earlier, drifting a bit and its 9/2 now.. I saw mel collier tipped up mr warbucks in this race too in his racing post column..this will be the one day he actually gets a winner now at the expense of whatuthink!

Neither unfortunatly........... I just got in time to see the race but I saw the Racing Post in the bookies and he went off that one and tipped the winner Pandorama at 5/1 I think. He said Whatuthink wasnt value at 5/1
I am surprised no one posted the paper tips ............. he also goes for Nineteenth Minute in the 1-50

Pointbreak, you mentioned seeing the Racing Post yesterday, according to the front page picture on the website there was a Anteposte bet for the King George Chase. Did you notice if it was Madison du Berlais ?

Today there is one for the Welsh National and it must be THe Tother one and Silver by Nature. Have a look at them on the Anteposte section on Oddschecker and you'll see what I mean. Both are the only solid blue lines ie cut with all bookies.

I'm not sure whether to risk Anteposte bets myself but I suppose they should be recorded in the stats
