Wifi on ipod touch???

How do I get the wifi on my ipod touch working? I can fin laplan but it doesnt work. I tried putting in the proxy.dcu.ie in the maual box but don't know what number to put in the port box. Can anyone help please? thx

At the moment I'm using proxy.dcu.ie:3128

Everything seems to work with that, all my apps, the app store and safari as well.

When I used 8080 none of my apps or mail could connect to the internet but safari still could....
