Saab 9-3 Aero Hot, whats it like?

I've always liked the old shape Saabs but what is the 2001 Saab 9-3 Aero Hot like? Is it reliable, are parts much more expensive than the standard 9-3? I'm quite tall so would I be better off looking at the previous model Octavia VRS for the added room, and perhaps reliability?
