Shoes with lots of support without the cushioning? (Maybe Nike Lunarglide?)

Im looking to get a new pair of shoes and was looking for some recommendations.

Since I started running Ive had two pairs of shoes, a pair of Kayano's and a pair of Nike equalons.

Now both were fine but I just find they are too bulky and have so much extra crap I dont need on them. Im not a heavy runner and Im a forefoot striker so basically all that crap on the heels is completely unnecessary imo. As I mentioned on another thread the cushioning on my equalons has long since gone and I much prefer the more responsive feeling of them now after plenty of miles.

The problem is Im a pretty heavy overpronator so need a fair bit of support.

Are there any shoes out there that would provide such support but are also lightweight and not to bulky?

I was looking at the Nike Lunarglide in particular. Has anyone tried them? Id love to hear some feedback on them.

    Thanks.

HI RB, I know I'm always going on about them but the pearl izumi surge+ are a fantastic shoe and do exactly what your looking for, I'm more of a neutral but do like the bit of support andI'm sure Ger will do you a Boards AC discount

I always wore kayanos, got a pair of lunarglides online during the summer and haven't looked back. I love them, with the injury problems I had during the summer I kind of eased myself into them but I ran my two autumn half marathons in them and the DCM in them and had no ill effects. They feel like air compared to kayanos. Another shoe I got recently is saucony fast twitch 3 even lighter than lunarglides and they're a support shoe too. I haven't done anything more than 6 miles in them yet but when I say they're light I mean LIGHT. They get good reviews but the reviews also generally say that they wear out quicker than other runners but thats only to be expected with lighter shoes really. I recently bought another two pairs of lunarglides as well just to have a nice stock, only time I'm going to wear my kayanos again now, most likely, will be in any ultras I do.

    +1 for the lunarglides.
Picked them up for $85 dollars (€55) in NY to try them for the fun and have been surprised how good they are.
I normally use 2140s and the Nikes are as stable but feel like you are running barefoot while the asics always feel heavy.
Only wish I'd bought a few pairs.
