Buying a car for approx 5k. Should I try up north?

Im looking to buy a second hand car in the next month or so. I have 5k for this and I was wondering if it would be worth my while going up north or are the deals down south better at the moment. I live in Cavan so I am only 20 minutes drive from a few car places in Fermanagh.

I am open to buy any model car as long as it is powerful enough (perhaps anything over 1.6) and it has to have a fairly big booth. Since I started driving I have been driving a Punto and I have never had any trouble with it but this time around I would like a nice sporty looking car.

Id appreciate any help.

their isnt much saving between North and South now,its probably cheaper down south.

see the difference.the Northern Car is €5613 thats before VRT or Nct.
