Advice on converting an acoustic guitar to a semi acoustic

Hey Guys

I am thinking of converting my acoustic guitar to a semi acoustic. The guitar was only $100 second hand in America so I am not too pushed if i mess it up. That being said, obviously I would love to get it up and running properly. I came across this tutorial online, and it seems like a cheap enough way to do what i need done.

Do you actually want to build your own pickup for it? If you just wanted to be able to plug it in you should look at just getting a sound hole pickup, non destructive and slides on and off whenever you need it.

Otherwise if you have your heart set on drilling a hole in your guitar theres a few other options. Heres where I started on my hunt for a pickup:

I think I am pretty set on building my own pick up, apparently the sound from the Piezo pickup he makes on the tutorial is quite good
