They are the only places I have lectures but I don't find either too bad really, both can have their bad days but I generally find that has more to do with the lecture itself

Don't do HPSS lads. You'll never get a job.

Well I heard one lad got a business thing out of it; could have been a rumour though

Well whoever controls the heating in UL must be reading these boards. FG042 was like a fridge this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 155 ✭✭mrmanire

It's cold because there was a HPSS lecture on in there and they don't deserve heat because the course is so useless.

me neither, I'm Politics and Intl Rels and I should have been there if I wasn't at home sick. Damn sick people infecting other people with their coughing and spluttering.

The walk from Schuhman back to kilmurry....without an umbrella :(

    And rant of the day

Had presentation for a German Lit. class.
    3 in group.
One a mature student who makes me rather angry for a variety of reasons.
Presentation due this morning and we split it into three areas so we knew what to focus on.

Anyway when we got the presentation to do, this one was all like "Yeah, I love presentations but I'm always the only one who actually does something and it's so frustrating that I'm the only one dedicated to doing presentations and blah blah blah"

Anyway, give it a few days and we meet up to see how we are getting on. She's nothing done. Doesn't even know what's she's meant to be doing. And she kept apologising and saying "This is so unlike me."

So anyway, that was Monday and I was fairly sick and pissed off so we just arranged to meet up last night.
I was in college from 1 - 6 straight yesterday, had club training from 6 - 8, and then went straight to the library to meet the other 2.
There we are standing in the cold for 20 minutes and she never shows. We don't have her number but she has ours and contacts neither of us.
    We go home fairly aggravated.

Anyway, this morning, no sign ten minutes to go and we are there thinking "What if she's nothing done for this?"

Then she shows up and tells us this big long spiel that she isn't feeling great and that's why she never came last night and that she has a certificate for the lecturer telling him she's tonsilitis [of which there are no signs. she could of burst into a rendition of the entire Sound of Music and nothing would have been wrong with her throat]

So long story short, we two still have to present 2/3's of the presentation with her sitting in the corner meekly coughing and saying she shouldn't be here but had to support her team.

    :mad::mad:

    /Rant

Sorry. That was my day and not a bitch about UL really but just a ****e day that took place in UL.

Funny, I worked in McDonald's when I was 17 for a few months. It was actually the best part time job I've ever had. Probably because I worked with science graduates, PhD students, professors and those with no academic qualifications whatsoever but they didn't distinguish nor care. It was a job. It paid wages. It fed mouths.

Then I went on and did HPSS and graduated with a first class honours. It might seem a bit crazy, but, eh, I'm pretty happy with my life. I guess I don't have self-construed issues with preconceived ideas of where society would rather have me than where I'd prefer to be myself.

    RANT/

    Project groups!!

What is it with them constantly being unable to have the work they were asked to do, and promised to have done, done!?!?!

FFS is it that difficult to analyse questionnaires that are already in graphical format??

    I mean come on!!

I've written 23 pages of the business plan thus far, at this rate I should have been doing it on my own from the beginning! I'd probably be done by now too :(

I wouldnt be so annoyed by this except its due this Thursday, and we also have a 45% Marketing project due on Friday which is being neglected even more because we are trying to finalise the BP!

    /Rant

I've been needing to do that all day!
