    And Oscar. And the Count.

Anybody that hated Sesame Street hasn't got a soul.

Did anyone else catch up on the "This programme was brought to you by the letter A, R and the number 6"? Now say aR6 really fast, my mind is filthy

My favourite characters were Bert and Ernie - but Bert could be so cross. And apparently they WERE a couple.

Some of the clothes were cool too - could be very Studio 54 inspired.

Does anyone know why RTE dropped it from its scheduling? It was and still is miles better than anything RTE or the UK have produced.

Have vague memories of a guy (a waiter?) who fell down the stairs carrying loads of plates too? And sometimes at the end did they have this view from the front of a train while the credits went up?

    Probably imagining it :o

Never watched it as a kid. I know some of the characters but that's about it

Sesame street is and always was, and I want to be really clear about this, a complete load of awful shite.

Would even this not melt your kiddy heart, you old cad?

Oh Doctor B.....how far you have fallen in my estimation. :(

Cookie Monster was definitely my favourite - anyone who doesn't know the words of this off by heart should be ashamed of themselves. :D

And if that doesn't, surely this would? Always makes me a little dewy-eyed. :o
(Slightly cheating as it's from The Muppets).

Swedish Chef was in the Muppet Show, not Sesame Street - but he was my favourite Muppet so kudos for posting the vid anyway. :D

Monster! How can anyone feel cynicism towards that little frog...? :(

Acid-tastic! The irony is, Sesame Street probably ran a "Just say no to drugs kids" special. :D

As much as I loved sesame street,I prefer the muppet show. I always imagined seasame street as their day job and then muppet show was what they were really like. I'd always thought that I wouldn't be suprised if
one minute they're doing the abc's on seasame stree then they walk off set onto the muppet show and say...."****in kids do my head in".

Yeah, the Muppet Show was basically Sesame Street for "grown ups" :) I loved both of them.

The frog is cute. I think I prefer him to Kermit. But it's the song with the schmoozy music...
