Britney Might Bring About Law Change LOL

Apparently the Australians are so angry that Britney mimed a lot of her show there that the government is considering changing the law!
Over nine months since Britney Spears kicked-off the "Circus" world tour, embarking on the latest leg of her pop comeback, the controversy will not go away. After such a mammoth international venture, it seems remarkable that some people are still shocked by the fact that she barely manages a real vocal all-night. But that's reportedly the case in Australia following the first of her 14 dates, which are said to have infuriated fans and critics alike.

Local media claim people stormed out of the Burswood Dome in Perth, incensed at her display, which was labelled "boring" and "stiff", apparently lacking both interaction and real singing. One fan told the Sydney Daily Telegraph: "It was cr*p... She has let us down". The fall-out has even lead to New South Wales' Fair Trade Minister Virginia Judge calling for official concert legislation to warn of lip-synching. "Live means live. If you are spending up to $200, I think you deserve better than a film clip", said Judge.

To be honest, I think we should do the same.
"Live in concert" should mean just that - LIVE!
Not pre-recorded two or four months ago, engineered in a hi-tec studio!
    Anyone's thoughts?

Should LIVE concerts be just that - LIVE ONLY? 186 votes

They would still be allowed put on a show, but they shouldn't be let advertise a live performance as such. Or at least have some small print.
Britney Spears Spectacular Circus Tour comes to the O2 offering thrills and fantastic entertainment for all.*

*Actual results may vary, Britney is a doped up hobag who cannot sing properly after so much male genitalia being rammed down her throat on a regular basis.

Aslong as Cheryl Cole looks as good as she does, she can do whatever she fcuking likes in my opinion.

I'd ride her till she made a PI thread about it

I think they should mime. Think of how stressful all that singing must be on their throats night after night. Poor things.

If Simon's the most hated man in Britain, Britney's the most hated woman in Australia...
...this is a story about Britney Spears. Remember her? She's a popstar who found fame through means other than a TV talent show (unless you count the Mickey Mouse Club. But we've never really understood what that is).

This weekend, Britney created a right old stink in Australia - not because her nipples rubbing against her top have caused a spate of bush fires, but because she's been miming on stage. Yeah, that's all. Because the Australians have produced such a wealth of genuine, talented popstars like Craig McLachlan and Holly Valance, they're genuinely shocked by this - so much so, that some of them walked out of her show in Perth in protest.

"It was so impersonal," says Mrs Mangel or similar. "She did not interact with her audience. There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn't know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her."

Wouldn't pay to go to see any of them. And yes they should be live for the amount you pay to see them.A little bit of respect to the fans who keep them in their luxury lifestyles.Good for Australia:cool:

Feckin stupid pre-record concerts.... No talent (Nice bums though. I was going to say tits but i dont think thats allowed is it)

Mind you when i use to go and see many metal bands in the 80's and 90's you never got the full concert because of trouble,

So Britney Spears is actually being encouraged to sing now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,190 ✭✭✭wolfric

tbh when it's loud and there's lots of people you don't notice THAT much but still some people sound ear breaking when they sing live and you wonder how the fuck did they ever become famous.

I'd hate if I paid what is frankly a fortune to only hear pre recorded crap. Live should mean live, and I can honestly say that I would instantly lose respect for any of my favourite artists who mimed onstage.

I'd be mega pissed off if I paid for a ticket to then find out the band/singer is miming. It is an insult imo.

    Had to be done:D

As for the topic, well Britney Spears is just a waste of space now. She became irrevevant the minute she started her how you say it, Wild years. TBH nowadays she seems like a 70 year old has been, still trying to cling on to the little bit of fame she once held. It's trully sad because she's still in her prime, yet she just looks like she's on of a sinking ship. The live show thing isn't real surprising, in fact I kind've expected it from her, but that's just my opinion.

The problem with artists like Britney Spears, Cheryl Cole, etc. is that they have a whole act to do. Dancing is incredibly physical and it's ridiculously hard to sing, nevermind sing well, while doing so. Ever tried singing while jumping up and down? It just doesn't work.

So I can understand why they mime it. But in my opinion if they can't sing, which is what they're renowned for, at their own act while dancing.. then just fúcking stand still and sing the damn song.

Not going to argue as to whether or not Britney/Cheryl have any real talent to begin with, just saying.
