I've eaten dog and snake in Cambodia and a big guinea pig type thing in Brazil. They were all nice, but you can't help but have a weird feeling when you're chewing down on Fido. Well, I couldn't anyway. It did taste nice though - sorta gamey :D

Thinking about it I see no moral difference between eating a cow or a pig, and dog or guinea pig. I still don't think I would like to eat dog though, purely from an emotional point of view. All I would be able to think about is eating my pet dog. :(

Well get a move on so. This is the Internet: You can arrange anything!

I've eaten Guinea pig in peru and it was tasty enough, not too different to rabbit tbh. The nicest weird meat i ate was Crocodile. Its fkn lovely. I also ate snake( not great), llama, alpaca, kangaroo, emu, camel, horse, crickets, frogs legs, snails and a wide variety of wild fowl and game. Most of the wild fowl you get is absolutely gorgeous, much nicer than tasteless chicken.

I wouldn't eat any of those animals because they're ... pets.

In general, cows, pigs and other animals that are traditionally eaten here aren't seen as being domestic animals, pets, but more so bred for the purpose of human consumption.

Ok so if i was to have 15ducks in my farm 20 chickens and a load of gease a few sheep a cow and a couple of pigs

are they pets or are they animals serving a perpose?

Personally I havent tried horse but i would.

Dog i dont see why not. cats maybe... hinipigs i dont see why not....

Don't want turn this into a "morality of eating meat" thread, I just want to point out the irony in what you just said.
If a farm animal is despatched humanely, there is no cruelty involved, and I have no problem with it. Do people hang live animals on hooks in this country or put them through any other form of extreme suffering? No. So sorry I don't see the irony.

Never had KFC, make sure you only ever buy free-range products including eggs etc? There lots of cruelty involved in farming, you're living in cloud nine if you think you've never eaten an animal that hasn't been treated cruelly.

    I'm undecided on pigs too.

They're smart animals, I could definitely have a pig as a companion animal, but mostly I'd think it looked delicious, then I would knock it on the head a couple times.

    I love bacon.

Would you eat a dumb human before a smart human in an "Alive" scenario?

emm thats cannibalism, not the same as a pig...

If you were ravenously hungry and were halfway through a wildly delicious meal then were told you were eating dog....would you stop eating or puke?
Eating a rat doesn't bear thinking about... however...I read a book about this fella who was in in a Thai prison .. he ate rat to survive. Horrendous story. Think if it was in a survival situation I'd eat anything. See that 'Alive' film? They were eating bumcheeks raw weren't they? Feck...dunno if I could do that..maybe if they were fried with a few onions:o.
On a serious note I've eaten rabbit (yum) pigeon (deep fried, very greasy but tasty, it was before I'd sense to realise they're like rats with wings) and pheasant (didn't like, too dark and tough)

No, I would never eat any of those animals. Been a horse and dog lover since I was a kid and can't imagine eating them.

I only eat chicken and beef, once had duck too. I don't eat veal, lamb or mutton, never have never will.

"Farm" would denote that the animals are serving a purpose (ie. being bred and fattened up with the intention of being consumed.)

Have you ever worked on a beef farm? Dairy farm? Sheep farm? Probably most pertinently a pig or poultry farm? Obviously not or you would know cruelty doesn't just occur in the slaughter factory.

Yep they certainly do. You're showing your complete ignorance of what you eat.

If it was already dead I'd try it yeah.

In a life or death situation I'd eat a human who has died (through other means), though maybe not someone I knew.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I would but I'd worry smaller animals would taste fatty. I can't stand fatty meat yuck. Maybe minced up into a burger. Mmm Dog burger...

    yes

But animals still have a personality... well some pigs do :) if you've ever had a few trotters around your house youd probably get very attached to them there really cool animals with pretty odd personalitys.. but you have to get used to the idea that they are used for. food.

Its one of those things horse can be eatin and should be tried what because there some what demesticated suddenly its wrong? twoddle!

The barrier is within your own mind you see a horse as a big strong thing that people love and yes i see it but again food is food you need to live buy eating.

But then again you can look at happy chickens organic ones thre treated completely differently to the crap you eat at kfc the difference is you've never had to be in the position where youve seen animals that you've cared for get there throats slit and hung for few days while you fammilly prepares for a feast.
