    what do you guys think should be the age of consent? here in Sweden it is 15, which I think is quite alright :D

    In Ireland? 23. And it should be enforced.

    That's about right.

    Doesn't bother me as I'm an adult and only interested in sleeping with adults.

    (I have a soon to be 16 year old daughter so have a vested interest in this)

    In Sweden it is not uncommon for a 25 year old man to sleep with 15-16 year old girls. It is frowned upon but it happens more often than you think.

    It's all down to culture really.
    I'm sure people in countries where it's a really low age would probably think we're mental.

    I think the legal age for drinking is to high, too.
    The way we go about teaching the young 'uns about alcohol is stupid too.

    Look at countries like france, where it's 16 and you've got a lot less of a drinking problem and then take the USA where it's 21 where they've got drunks on every corner and every one that has a drink on the week end is obviously an alcoholic.

    It's about teaching, not what age they are.

    It's a bit of a myth that French teens have this 'oh so sensible' attitude to alcohol. Teen binge drinking is a problem there too:

    It really depends on where you are. Ireland should be 16. Other countries it should be 18.

    15 in sweden is fine, but there should be some sort of treshold...

    i would agree its abit young at the moment i reckon 18 in line with the drinking age....to be honest i think the 2 are intralinked....

    I think it's perfectly fine the way it is.
    I can see why some countries have it younger, seeing as a girl has reached sexual maturity at a younger age than 17. But some of the ages are pushing it. Like 12? Jesus...
