    There is two different stories linked in the first post - the couple who wanted to get married are 17 and 25 are expecting their first child.

    The other story relates to a girl whose child is now age 3

    OK: to avoid confusion: Rachel Pullen is 24, from Nottingham and single. Her child was taken away at 6 months because she was deemed unfit to care for her.

    Kerry Robertson is 17, from Scotland, pregnant and engaged. She was forbidden to marry and told her baby would be taken away an hour after birth.

    I was only discussing tonight this with the Mrs.
    I was at the petrol station tonight, a ropey looking “mother” ahead of me in the queue, with her son, about 4 or 5 years. He kicks up a fuss over some toxic looking sweet thing at the counter.
    After much “discussion” she buys the kid 12 packs of the sh1t!
    “ dats to do ya for the fcukin weekend” she tells him.

    She bought her smokes and marches him out the shop, I was behind her and I heard her tell him “ I goin to fcukin batter ya”

    These people are not fit to look after a dog.

    there are plenty of cases like this... Fran Lyon who was beaten up by her OH and called the police... the police reported this to the Social Services: they came and asked her questions: turns out she was raped at 14 and had a long history of mental problems, but was now over those. Then they told her the baby would be taken away at birth. She kicked up a mighty stink (she had 5 A-levels and a neuroscience degree, so she could look after herself), and abandoned ship to Sweden: she is still too scared to come back. Social services still flinch when they hear her name, for the sheer damage she caused them.

    or this case http://camdensocialservices.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html. Father went to Qatar for a long time: mother was struggling to cope with daughter, so gave her to the social services to look after. Then they wouldn't give her back. The girl kept running away back to her parents', and every time the parents had to phone the police and send her back. One day she was killed with her carer in a car crash. Her mum is 49, and she was her only child.

    or the Angela Wileman case. A. was slapped by bf, reported him to the police. They accused her of letting her son see her abused, wouldn't believe that she kicked bf out and took the child away. A. took the bf back because an indepentdent social worker advised her to and had a second pregnancy: the social workers told her that would be taken away too. By this time the first kid was desperate to come home, so she stole him to foster care and ran to Spain (where child no. 2 was born). Then to Sweden. Then to Ireland, where the local courts cleared her of any wrongdoing. She still lives in Wexford.

    and that's just the tip of the iceberg...

    btw just read Lynn Barber's story 'an education'. Funny how attitudes changed: people (including her parents) then virtually pushed her (at 16) to go out and eventually accept a marriage proposal from a man more than twice her age (she said that towards the end she didn't love him, but felt under much pressure from people around her to keep meeting him). Nowdays a 25yo going out with a 17yo is seen as a 'pervert'. How times have changed.
