Hi Folks, I need a bit of advice on a problem my mother is having with a Acer d250 netbook. It's got WinXP on it and when she was using it this morning she tried to launch Internet Explorer, the sys froze and the only way out was turn it off with the power switch. Now when she tries to boot she gets the error "A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart". When she does this the netbook just reboots and returns to the same error. Can't get past it.
Its a brand new machine only used a few times, nothing installed on it.
Anyone have ideas what the problem could be?

Sounds like it could be the hard drive that's gone on it. Although it's hard to be certain. I'd take it back tbh.
