Irish accent as in what? - a duuuu-b-lin or a cork boooi??? Variations in irish accents are huge. There is a village not too far from where my folks live & NO Dub or Northie would understand em....

When i lived in Australia, there was 3 cork lads, 2 brothers & their cousin, my girlfriend (she was aussie) & her friend asked me what language they were speaking one evening while in the pub....it was English hahaa (Irish-version-of -english really), FUNNY

It is true, Southern Cali girls fall head over heels when they hear me, I throw in a few words as Gaeilge and they are spellbound.

What we have to remember is the outer world thinks the Irish accent is "top o' da mornin' to ya paddy, da sheep ar cumin' in well dis spring"

Not the ever spreading "alreee bud, giz a smohhke will ya, got n-e chainggge for da bus"

My accent got me a rumble in the sack once in New York. Didn't even know the girls name when she asked me to leave my mate for 30 minutes and go to her apartment close by. Overheard me ordering a drink. Mind you it was about 4 in the afternoon in an empty dive bar. American's are mad forward like that.

I'm sure they all just sound Irish to a foreigner.

What's a YOB or do you just like shouting the word "Yob"?

You sound like a typical Irishman with an anti English chip on their shoulder, and before I get called a racist etc, I have a lot of Irish friends who hate the anti English identity their country has ;-)

    Touche!!

as are variants of the french accent, american accents differ immensely too, its the same in most cultures, we just dont notice it

That's just one of MANY Irish Accents, and I think the women who voted in this voted based on Colin Farrels accents rather than Dicey Rileys.

It's the "bogger who just came up to Dublin in September for college and now has a D4 accent" accent. :P

I've said it many times before, and now I'm going to say it again.

Keep the Daily Mail out of After Hours.
Add it to the swear filter already!
