Still not getting the joke there.........?? You think they named bonfire night after a character Alan Moore created? How famous do you think Alan Moores' comic was before the film??
OK now I think you're messing with me :D, there's no way you could infer that after reading the post where I explicitly tell you the joke.

The idea is that I'm playing the part of a person who criticises somebody's view of history while showing my own ignorance of history by blatantly mistaking a fictional character who lives in the future (V) for a largely known historical figure (Guy Fawkes). The joke is that I'm expressing my belief that another person is lacking in historical knowledge whilst also showing my clear lack of grasp on history/reality. Not to mention the title "Guy Fawkes for Vendetta" would make no sense. V for Vendetta also makes heavy references to Guy Fawkes in a historical context with V drawing inspiration from Guy Fawkes which is pretty much part of the gag.

I'm no good at explanations. Maybe you should ask Batman, sure he's no Adam West but Adam West is a fictional crime fighter, that's to be expected! :pac:

So it's November - White Rabbits people.
Halloween's gone, now comes the endless Christmas adverts.

When do you start to feel 'Christmassy'? Now, Christmas Eve, Never?
For me, it's after Bonfire Night, so after Thursday, I'll start feeling really Christmassy.

I was in town last night with some mates, there were some Christmas lights up. Walking back to my mates, we sang Fairytale of New York - it was great, the Christmassy feeling's been gradually creeping in over the past few weeks but it'll come full throttle hence forth.

    So, you feeling Christmassy punk?

You can PM me in a month tom and I will open this then.

    It's November!!

Usually xmas eve is the best time ever......

anyways, I don't think its just me but this year... I can't stand the idea of xmas.
It's depressing... I can't see a xmas spirit when I'm broke, everyone I know is broke/stressed , pressured into buying ****. People ask,"what do ya want?"... nothing. really nothing, i cant buy anyone anything. I would say ill at least have a few days off work, but i dont work.

So xmas doesnt really exist this year... :pac:

EDIT: maybe the re-runs of willy wonka/wizard of oz and home alone will cheer me up
