I wonder how he payed for them.....

to be fair, with the amount he was taking the 40,000 of them probably only cost him about 20,000 over 9 years absolute maximum, which is probably less than some spend on booze

50c a popper? where as 20000 spent on drink in 9 years from 21 to 30 allowing 3 euro adverage over the 9 years thats 6666 pints or 14 pints a week every single week for 9 years. How likely do you think that is... Honestly! This is not adverage drinking even for an irish man.

"Though the man, who is now 37, stopped taking the drug seven years ago, he still suffers from severe physical and mental health side-effects, including extreme memory problems, paranoia, hallucinations and depression. He also suffers from painful muscle rigidity around his neck and jaw which often prevents him from opening his mouth. The doctors believe many of these symptoms may be permanent."

To be honest, I reckon his financial situation is probably the least of his worries..

I never spoke of his worries. I just dont believe all the rubbish i read withour questioning first.

Well you got to wonder and question the story. 40000 @ 5 euro a pop is 200000 over the 9 years or 427 euro a week. So he is spending 427 euro a week....Before he gets buy. Who is he George michael. I think the story is sh1t .

In fairness, I doubt he was paying a fiver a throw. First of all, deadlies aren't as expensive in the UK and secondly, he would probably be buying in bulk so I'd presume he wouldn't be paying "street" prices.

So you find it easier to believe the story than to question its validity.

Would he be paying 2.50 in bulk do you still think he could afford half it and live. More importantly if he was buying in bulk he would have increased his chances of being done for dealing. Especially if he is as fooked as they say. How come there is no mention of this

Sorry, I didn't say I believed the story. I'm just pointing out an error in your argument.

    It's what I do.;)

There is no error unless you can prove it, You presume there is an error. I am dealing with what we know

We know they are about 5 euro a pop at best in bulk he will get them for half that, We know from the article how long he was taking them and we know how many. I come to the conlcusion it must be wrong. The only error is in your arguement as your own "Feeling" is he got a bulk price. ;)

I also know that they can be bought for about £2 a go in the UK without having to buy in bulk.

Your argument is also based on your own "feeling" as to what price he was paying.

If he was taking that many then he probably was dealing. He could easily have covered the costs of his addiction through his profits.

Lets say he bought 1000 pills at bulk prices for £2500. He could sell 250 for £10 each to cover his costs and end up with 750 for himself for free. Alternatively, he could sell 500 for a tenner apiece, cover his costs, buy another 1000 and end up with 1000 for himself for free.

I'd imagine he was getting them even cheaper though. 50p a pill isnt implausible, it just depends on who you know and how many you buy.

This is why drug dealing is such an attractive career option for some people. The profit margins are huge.

I fully regret mentioning the price of them.. Thread turned to muck.

    total muck and rubbish

There's not many people who regularly take E paying E5 per tablet or anything like it.

At one stage, you could get a bag of 50 pills for around E25 in Dublin.

Whether the guy took 40,000 is another thing. How do you prove such a thing? There's no way a guy who takes that many is paying E5 per tablet. He would've bought them in bulk for relatively cheap.

i'd imagine it's just speculation as to how many he took.
they've said his memory is shot to feck so they're just taking a pop at it.

Well, if he had that many, chances are he was in the manufacturing business as well.

After all the ingredients are cheap enough!

I'm going to open a can of worms here and compare those who doubt this story to Holocaust-deniers; the amount of pills he obviously took is so absurdly high as to render arguments about the precise number a bit redundant.

"The man known as Mr. A"

I mean come on! they could have at least gave him a bit of respect and named him Mr. E
