Good N series router for perlico 3mb broadband?

hi i have a netgear 802.11-g router for my 3mb perlico broadband and the max i can get is 54mbps around the house.....i heard about the new N series routers that can give much higher wireless speed......any recommendations? how much better would it be ?... any advice appreciated....:)

If the connection is at max 3mb then i dont think that getting a N type router will help. Stick with the netgear g modem.
