I love how people who go to mass and probably donate to the collection lambast scientology for its "stupid" beliefs, yeah like eating a wafer thats meant to be the flesh of a guy who died on two planks 2000 years ago,and believing a man in the sky created you and will send you to hell if you disobey his big list of 10 naughty things is just common sense really, scientology is a business that makes the deluded pay to believe something that was simply made up, same as any other religion

Plus scientology has way cooler protagonists, we have a magical man in the sky who was sitting around for eternity, and made the world for a laugh, then took a day off! scientology has gigantic warships, nuclear bomb powered volcanos and alien warlords, it beats catholicism hands down for cool belief systems
Shh. you're not supposed to talk about it.

There are some varients of the catholic religion and probably others that do the same thing :rolleyes:, if they would only investigate other religions now :)

Those guys were actually out on the street the other day, offering "free personality tests". I can maybe understand how some people got sucked into it in earlier years, before all the revelations about Lord Zemu and the volcanoes came out [I think they were originally meant to be only for high-level Scientologists, who had incidentally paid a lot of money to get to that high level]. Some former Scientologist dude leaked all the mad stuff when he left. But these days........you can check out all about it on wiki, and it's hugely entertaining stuff. Like a mediocre sci-fi novel, really.

Oh and in Berlin, on Alexanderplatz, they're always there. And they're a helluva lot more pro-active than the Irish guys. They will actually walk after you trying to convince you that you need to take this test!

If one ever needs yet another example of the devious levels they will go to in order NOT to be answerable to the law - here is another!
Church of Scientology Refuses to Allow Coroner on Suicide Case Access to Files

The Church of Scientology moved files on a soldier who committed suicide from Australia to the US prior to warrants being issued for them by coroner John Lock. The soldier had taken $25,000 worth of course from the church over about a month.

After the month Edward Alexander McBride´s attitude changed and he decided to take a break. Repeated attempts were made to contact him by CoS members and he committed suicide two days later. The CoS says there is nothing relevant in the files.

"It is clear to me that the degree of forcefulness and amount of contact from church members over those few days is indicative of something more than concerns about completing an administrative process at the completion of his course," said Lock.
