What else do we need to buy? In the "it's-such-a-bargain-it's-too-good-to-miss" category.

These Belgian Booties nearly fell into that category, only £7.50. But reviews say they're rubbish, no heel cut out so they disintegrate on the first use.

@Bambaata- I am 6ft and 76kg. Waist around 80cm at the moment, for how long with winter approaching I am not sure. I tend to take a medium in jerseys but a large in shorts. I have the Craft base layers in both small and medium to have a bit of variety. The small ones are skin tight but still long enough on the arms and torso (they tend to be quite long.) They are stretchy enough so no problems there. The medium are slightly looser but still tight enough, there would just be more of a tendency to wrinkle.

My thinking is I would wear the small ones if performance was particularly important and the medium otherwise. Small ones in particular if I was wearing a SS jersey over them so the arms would be exposed.

Dunnes are doing all Natural Confectionery jellies at half price, 77c a bag.

So that's what they are called, I bought a pair by accident thinking they were socks. I was very confused by the holes in the bottom of my new socks.

PBK have a Craft Pro Zero Extreme Zip base layer at 46% off (just in their mail today.) I have other Craft base layers and like them, I bought two of this one. £16.20 not a bad price.

I can see why they are so cheap. Mine arrived, one has a hole in it near the shoulder blade and the stitching on the other is questionable.

I've used them. They look fantastic and really complete the ensemble. The also hide the shame of my black/blue shimano shoes.

They are also incredibly fragile and can fairly be described as a single-use-item. Special occasions only.

Or purple and pink nike shoes too. I have gone through 2 pair of these and I am on my 2nd pair of white assos booties ... this year so far. Too many special occasions spins

I bought 4 baselayers last week, all long sleeve.
Now the weather is quite balmy, certainly not the weather for baselayers.
    Typical.

You can wear them under a short sleeve jersey in this sort of weather. They are quite flexible things.

Thanks. Was aware. I have no doubt that I will get the use out of them, but more bemoaning how inappropriate the weather feels. Cold and wet one minute, and now humid. I ended up way too hot on my Sunday cycle, wearing a baselayer and winter LS jersey (plus occasionallly a breathable rain jacket).

I long for cold crisp dry autumn/winter days. Great for cycling.

What baselayers did you get ROK ON, having noticed your purchases previously I'm assuming they are good quality!

I got a Helly Hansen one in the Outdoor store on Chatham Street in Dublin (circa €30ish). I got the Rapha bundle for €105 plus I had a discount thing, so they worked out at around €32 each.

They are the type of thing that I would also wear with a pair of jeans, so I think its worth it.

Also bought some dhb bib tights last week, on recommendations from this site. Price seems good, so hopefully they well work out.

Cool, thanks for the info, not a great fan of the HH ones, have a number of Under Armour and Canterbury ones so might try a wool one or two!

I have an underarmour one, that is excellent in cold weather. But I would not wear it if the weather was mild. Great for wicking mositure away, but in todays weather you would be too warm in it.
I wore it last winter heading up the mountains in the snow and cold. It kep me nice and toasty. Plus the under armour ones are a good bit cheaper than most base layers.

Why dont you like Helly Hansen?

I have no good answer to that question! Had a look at them before and just didn't like the feel of them. Unless of course they have a wool one now?

Have loads of the UA etc so hence want a wool one that will do nicely at this time of year. The Rapha might be a good option at 110 for 3.
