with nearly 7,000 people a week catching it..it would stand to reason that some Boardies would have caught it...but whats it like?...Flu...or something else?

i remember 1 guy descibing it as the worst illness he ever had...then someone else saying it was grand....so what is it like?

I have it right now!!! :(

Two of my cousins had it, one of them was sick for nearly 3 weeks,
My case isnt/wasnt as bad, im on the mend now, I had all the usual smptoms but thank god no squirts or vomiting, aparently having those make it much worse for obvious reasons. I had a temp of 104 which is fairly close to needing medical treatment but thankfully it never went above that. Stayed in bed for 3 days but im still confined to my bedroom. Im on my fifth day now, caught it on Monday (Symptoms showed up Monday day).

Over all the general illness people will be getting is just like a regular flu (some people believe it or not have never had the flu) but i know people are getting worse doses...

    My two cents anyways!

Yeah I had it a month ago. Certainly not the most sick I've ever been but it wasn't exactly a walk in the park either. I think it's been exaggerated greatly though to be honest.

Yeah I had the vomiting. And the high temperature/headache was the worst part.

Hope you're over the worst of it Hogzy.

The high temp/chills/headache/sore muscles are the worst. Trying to sleep was a nightmare.

I got it in mid-August. By the time the swabs came back with the results, I was better. Thanks HSE.

Can you catch swine flu from rashers?

My boyfriend and my brother had it at the same time, about a month ago. Both had really high temperatures and said it was like a bad flu. They went to the local doctor, who told both of them "Nah, you don't have Swine Flu, but sure we'll do the swab anyway. We'll call you when the results come back"

A week later, both of them pretty much over the whole illness but had never received a call from the doctor. Boyf rang up to check out of curiosity, said he could hear the secretary rooting around for the results and when she finally found them she just said "Oh....right....umm.....not what I was expecting....ehh...can I get the doctor to ring you back?" They hadn't even bothered to open the results for either of them  Was not impressed with that doctor :P

Somehow I didn't get it. I think my immune system must be quite strong from working in healthcare for the past 8 or 9 years.

    I thought I had it.

Had all the symptoms. Only lasted about 24 hours though.

So I guess it was just man flu \o/

Have it or had it. Just getting over it, wasn't that bad at all.

    Wouldn't mind seconds.

Know people who have it, thought the vaccine would be rushed into where I work (specific at risk health care area) but not at all, no mention of it....

I have it :( Its horrible. I've to stay out of work for 2 weeks. The cabin fever is driving me mental. If the flu doesn't kill me, madness surely will.

Keep going guys. I might use some of your experiences for a screenplay I'm writing. I'm gonna call it "Aporkalypse Now - Piggies Revenge"

Had it, was only a mild dose of it but still wouldn't reccomend it to anybody.

Was able to get the tamiflu though which may have lessened the horror.

I had it for 2 weeks while on holidays.Worst time of my life. Its more a respiratory ilness and I already had asthma and a temp of 104.3 so I was jacked up with all kinds of medicine, covered in wet towels and to make it worse I had nothing to occupy the time.I was stuck in a room as delusional as Towely on shrooms.
