Women and condoms.

Something I heard on the auld wireless... would you consider a woman that carries condoms to be a "slut" or that she sleeps around a lot?

Personally I would subconciously, but yet I always carried them when I was single, just in case :P

This shouldn't be the case though, it's not fair to thing this, but it's a subconcious thing.

God I must be the biggest tramp on the planet..I went into Boots one day a few months back and bought a massive box of rubbers for me and my husband!!!

Seriously you think men would be delighted women were taking equal responsibility for things like this. I guess we still have that old Catholic mentality dont we no matter how cosmopolitan we like to think we are.

hmmmm, I remember a girlfriend i had a few years ago that i fell for quite hard. The first night i stayed at her place I saw a box of them on her shelf and it was open and I was a little stressed over it! But she was a grown 31 year old woman you have to get over these things. My latest gf had them but i met her while backpacking and she was doing the same, so no surprise she had them. You dont care at the start but if you start going out with them after, it may nag at you a bit, like you'll think "who was she banging before me? how soon before me??" etc. I never carry them, I consider them bad luck, if I did carry them I bet i'd never get laid.

Nah, fair dues... but the general sub concious thought is, "she's a slut"... it's not that difficult to understand really.

More the slut for not wearing a condom, but generally, this is what men tend to think. 'twas on the radio n all...

The "holier than thou" posts are fcuking sickening. People, really...

It was a discussion on the wadio, got me thinking, rarely would I be with a woman that has condoms, it seems to be expected of the men to carry them. Where exactly did this originate from? Sex is taboo etc etc.

I was just about to say that I would be positively surprised and appreciate it actually, although I would always be bringing my own if I suspected that kind of fun was on the agenda

But now... erm... let's just say I'd be surprised and check them excessively for holes... and take my own in the end. It's all about peace of mind after all.

Sorry if our opinions don't tally with yours.

If a woman carries condoms, it doesn't necessarily mean she's solely "out for the ride", it means she's protected in case she gets "the ride" (may, may not). Consider that instead of the cop-out likes of "I think she's a slut. Sorry, can't help it, that's just the way it is".

You seem to think, or better yet, assume that because a woman doesn't carry condoms she will have unprotected sex. This is not the debate. It is as follows "would you consider a woman who carries condoms to be a slut?".

The fact that she is carrying condoms, the same way a man carries condoms, would suggest that she is searching for sex, or is ready for sex. For some reason, people think that this is slutty, why? I have no idea.
