Dublin has to be the best in Ireland, it has the most people, most diversity, and most choice.

more choice does not equal best, and this is addressed to homerjay too

you just gave an example of london which is 10 times the size of dublin, true most places in londons west-end close at 11pm on weekday nights, try new york again the same, weekday night you can have trouble finding a fast food establishment open in manhattan if you are not in or near times square, compare that to las vegas where at 4am everything is open and there is more people on the strip than at 4pm despite vegas being about 1/10th the size of NYC

ireland in general is shyte for going out. the problem is it's full of irish binge-drinking irresponsible cnuts, who think anybody who isn't drunk and vomiting on the pavement is strange. then there's the clubs that have the cheek to charge you e15 to go into their establishment so that you can pay e6 or e7 a pint.

fcuk that, i'm going back to the 'dam.

Well said. These fools often are the ones who like to boast that 'the Irish really know how to party'!!! No. No you don't. You know how to get blotto as an attempt to cope with your childlike shyness. Quite different.

The only place that gets close to Galway for going out is Edinburgh.

Galway may be great but many who are voting such have probably never been out for a night there. Just so Dublin won't top the bleedin poll.

Some people are having a laugh. Limerick?

I have lived in Limerick, Cork, Galway and Dublin and can honestly say Limerick is good place to go out in. Never had bad night there. Very good spot but people think of place for the wrong reasons I think.

Galway, by a country f*cking mile. Only ever been on 2 nights out there... Piss all over any other nights out I've ever been on, in this country anyway.

Dublin: can be fun, but nightclubs there bore the shíte outta me.

Belfast: Norn Ayern accent is awesome stuff, but again, like Dublin, can be a bit boring.

Limerick: best seen through the rear view mirror...

But... for the ultimate night out, skip across either the Irish Sea or the Channel and hit Liverpool or The 'Dam... Awesome stuff.

This weekend I will see the Buzzcocks and Fleetwood Mac in Dublin. You could never do that in any of the other "Cities".

So, Dublin, because you can get a variety of things to do which you cannot in Galway (knitted jumper night out), Cork (toasted special night out), Limerick (mind your back night out).

Well tonight in Cork city the Buzzcocks are playing in 'The Pavilion' and Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac is playing in the 'Old Oak'.

    :P
