I have a few pairs of club shorts that I don't find that comfortable. I've also a few pairs of decent shorts that are getting a bit worn around the edges. I'm wondering if it's possible to unstich the sponsored panel from my club shorts and stitch them into another pair? Or even remove the chamois from the other shorts and stich them into my club shorts? Anyone tried this or am I being way too obsessive?

Thats sounds a bit messy difrent brand and diffrent cuts it would be next to impossible. you could end up having no shorts at the end of it.

I should add that I wouldn't be tackling this myself, just trying to find a tailor to do it if it's feasible.

I've heard of pros having a different chamois stitched into team kit, but never heard of anyone trying to stitch in lycra panels.

It is possible to change the Chamois.;) Me Ma is very proud of her ability with a sewing machine and she did it for a one of the lads last year who had the same problem. The biggest problem is actually picking the stitching without tearing the Lycra.
Not sure if you'll find a Pro seamstress who would want to take on the job.

    Particularly if they're pre-worn...

How bad are we talking here, out of curiosity?

I find the chamois quite thin. Also the straps are a bit close together, but I can live with that. For what it's worth, I've ridden the W200 in them... twice.. so they aren't dreadful by any means. But I like a nice pair of shorts.
