Existence is utterly pointless

Dawned on my today as I made my way to school. People trying their best to look good, pretending to be something their not to impress a girl/guy, people attempting to be the funniest, the most charismatic but why? I see through all this and its just a chirade. When we die that is it? IMO mortal existence is a waste of bloody time:mad:

I agree with you that life makes no sense and in general is utterly pointless, but not because people are shallow or have personas.

Btw, just because something is pointless doesn't mean it should be depressing or upsetting.

I also had a similar revelation in my youth but you will work past that and realise that if nothing you do matters, the only thing that matters is what you do.

Do something that DOES matter, even if it is only temporary.

If you watch that today, you have to laugh at how 'uncool' everyone was in this film and that James Dean is an over-hyped actor.

It also gets rather unnerving when you realise that the sexual tension on the set is tangible. Sal Mineo is pining for James Dean in every scene.

Natalie Wood is hot as hell, and that's the highlight of the film.

I haven't seen it but I presume the term "square" is used quite a lot?
