What does the plus sign e.g. 21+ mean in a DTT frequency table?

I see Arfon is now broadcasting DTT on Channel 21+ - what does the '+' mean?

Actually 41+, , + is a precision offset of 167kHz on the centre frequency of Channel 41 (634 Mhz).

    Are you receiving it?

Tried this morning from upstairs with an indoor aerial but got nothing. However I know that the aerial is crap at higher channels so my only hope is in Feb when Blaenplwyf goes live on Band A. I have a good view out to the Irish Sea to the E and SE.

Indoor aerials are no good. Do people nearby have aerials pointing out to sea: horizontal or vertical polarisation? If not then its unlikely you can get UK DTT.

A lot of my neighbours (Foxrock/Leopardstown) have large yagis pointing north with vertical polarity so obviously they're picking up Divis and Clermont Carn, some of them also have small contracts pointing south to 3rock. I know I'm probably wasting my time but on a good day you never know what I might pick up!

You are not going to get reception from Wales on a set top aerial (I assume you're trying the Maplins one?) unless there are freak reception conditions during high pressure. I was picking up Caldbeck from NE England recently on a roof-mounted aerial, but only for short periods and that transmitter is really high power.
Depending on exactly where you are in Foxrock/Leopardstown, your path to Arfon may be blocked by Killiney Hill.

That will probably be for the Kilkeel relay station which is vertical and does not go digital till 2012. Divis is horizontal and currently low power DTT. No aerials out to sea = no reception in my book!

Yes, I can see that Divis is H and Kilkeel is V plus Divis is probably blocked by the Mourne Mountains. Guess I'm stuck with NTL so!

My neighbours aerials might be pointing at Camlough which is also vertical and which has the advantage of being closer (in the angular sense viewed from Dublin) to Clermont Carn and is the same aerial group (C/D).
