Open to interpretation from the individual

Anyone here who doesn't answer a question with a question? I've given an example of how to do it above here.

The big 4 eh. Well Liverpool, Manchester, Chelsea and Arsenal are quite good.

I think Arsenal is a gay bar though so whatever you're into.

But to answer your question Dublin is good most times. Dundalk isn't too bad either.

I've spent a couple of nights out in Galway, and I gotta say it's much better than Dublin. The people up in Galway are much friendlier and much more fun than us stuck up pricks in Dublin

You can have a great night out anywhere. It's totally dependent on the people you are out with.
If you are on your own and up for a laugh, any city is good to go out in.

I cant believe I've replied to such a daft topic.

a few years ago, we needed to be at Belfast airport in the morning, so we decided to stay a night in the North in a random town, just for the laugh. We wrote down the names of 10 towns and put them in a hat... we ended up picking out Magherafelt in Co. Derry and had a great night.. purely down to the company we met over there... best nights out are unplanned

Stuck up pricks would be some people's definition of a good night out..........:pac:

Belfast is the second biggest city in Ireland.

    It's totally subjective.
Depends what sort of crowd you want, what sort of pubs/clubs you like to drink in.
But as someone's previously said, it's more about the people you're with - and you can have fun anywhere.

I do think Dublin is more fun for a night out than Cork though, personally.
Give me expensive drink prices over an annoying accent any time! :P

I think a few people are missing the point. It was never asked was Kilkenny a city or a town. Nor was it ever stated that Cork Limerick and Galway are bigger than Belfast. But out of the four biggest cities in the Republic is what I think the OP meant.

Cork for me. Some decent pubs. Nice variety. Dublin would probably be much better if all the pubs in the city centre didn't charge extortianite prices. During the day in midweek this pub off Aungeir st. charged me 5.50 for a pint!! There are also some places in temple bar that charge 6.60 after eight on Saturday noghts or so I have been told

I have been to all 4 and I would put them in the following order, 1 being the best, 4 being the worst:

    1 - Galway
    2 - Cork
    3 - Dublin
    4 - Limerick

    Dublin is the best.
    Galway is good
    Cork is ok
    Limerick scares me

Location and atmosphere have a huge part to play also. Ones perception of a place can have a huge influence on the outcome of the night out, if it is going to be good or bad.

Waterford is far from being a city. It is also a hole. I should know living in Limerick, another hole that is far from being a city.
