Hi everyone!

Thought I'd open a thread to discuss the upcoming by-election for the SU Executive position of Equality Officer, next Monday, October 12th and Tuesday, October 13th.

Hi folks, for those who couldn't attend the Hustings last week, or still haven't made their mind up DCUfm will be airing a pre-recorded Equality Officer candidate debate at 1pm Monday 12th Oct. It will also be available to download and listen to over the course of the day, thereafter!

These things are a pure popularity contest. It's all about who has the most mates to vote for them. What a load of bull. I know I'm quite cynical but I don't think many people actually go out of their way to learn about the people running. It's more a case of "You should vote for my friend who's running".

on First Preferences it was:
Aisling Fitzgerald 553
Meave McQuillan 369
Ian McGlynn 292
Milan (can't remember his second name) 40

Don't have the figures for the transfers of the two lads but I believe they went evenly enough and Aisling was elected

I voted before reading the candidates columns on campusmag. Im gutted as Milan Gallas had by far the best one, yet I gave him my number 3.....
