If Citeh do make the offer.
    And the Yanks do sell.

    I can see Rafa going.

    Pfft!

If Benni was having moan about starting ganmes for Liverpool where does he think he'll be in Citys Order of the Pecking?

    Non story.

Just to play devils advocate, really? I mean Yossi is great and has been very consistent, but if Man City made a mental offer for him would Rafa really be against selling him (assuming the money would go into his transfer funds that is)?

I could only see Rafa fighting tooth and nail to prevent Stevie G and Torres from going, and walking if the players were sold against his will, any other player not so much.

Er, are we talking about the same Rafa here (lampshade instead of a table)?

He would walk if any player was sold against his wishes, on principle, I'd say.

I know, what I meant is, would he even be against the selling of Yossi if an absolutely mental offer came in? He could well agree with the Yanks you know. :P

I think Rafa should hold on to every player he has TBH.
The money will not be put back into a transfer kitty so there would be no point in cashing in on any player to service debts by our so called owners, who as far i can tell own **** all...

The money wouldn't come back to Rafa to spend though, and even if it did, he would have to use some of it to cover all the legal costs, and signing on fees, and admin charges.

If he got £10 mill for Benni (who's worth a hell of a lot more IMO, and I'm just picking a random figure), then the most he'd have to spend is £5 mill.

Everyone knows it's a non story but that does'nt take from the fact if the proper bid came in the owners will sell. Money rules football not love of the game.

I'm by no means the yanks biggest fan but come on, you're talking pony, how can you possibly know the yanks "will" sell if theres a decent offer put in for Yossi? If that's the case why didn't they take the 60m for Torres during the summer.

I'm all for a bit of Randolph and Mortimer bashing, there's enough stuff that they've done which warrents our disdain but to start pinning sh1t on them they haven't done is just sensationalist, leave that carry-on to the rags.

That will be last straw if we sell Yossi. We might as well throw in the towel if we continue like this.

You can't argue with this man.

Carry on like what exactly? It is not as if Rafa has been forced to sell a single player, is it?

The Yank bashing is definitely getting ridiculous and a bit embarrassing.

True - but it dilutes the argument when you blame them for everything. Just turns into a witch hunt which benefits noone.

Yes it is hard to know who is at fault here. Rafa messed up on the Alonso situation but at same time Americans and board room have not been up front in their dealings.
Go behind his back to talk to Klinsmann was low IMO.

i cant believe there are people defending the yanks :(

considering they are taking any money generated from player sales & writing it off their loans i don't think its a huge stretch to think if a generous offer came in for someone like Yossi, they would try & accept if they thought they could get away with it.

Of course they would. Every player has a price. If City came back with a 100m quid bid this January do you honestly think Hicks and Gillete would'nt sell. Come on get with the times.

I'd be inclined to think it is the Yanks themselves who are ridiculous and more than a bit embarrassing.

its their club, the don't have to "try & accept it".

their priority is to run the club as a business first and foremost, reduce the debt, build a stadium and sell the club on at a massive profit.

this is not defending them, this is just how it is.

as i've outlayed a few posts above. its going to take a monumental investment to get rid of these guys and build the stadium. so the sooner they chip away and reduce that debt the better chance we have of potentially seeing them gone.

Fair enough, lets get rid of Stevie & Fernando in the summer so.

No its our club. Without the people there would be no club. They are running it on our behalf, and if we feel its no being run properly the we will/should complain.

i don't think people are really defending them.

there's just no point in blaming them for every little thing that happens.

this all started with me posting the story about City tracking Yossi, and saying they can f*** right off. this is because Yossi is an important player, and Hicks and Gillette may well want to accept an excessive bid if it were ever to come in.

but they haven't done a thing wrong in terms of this. they haven't sold anyone behind Rafa's back, and we've no reason to believe they would.

the only basis we have is that they're businessmen, and we believe they would take any money they can get.

i want them gone as much as anyone, but to blame them for things they haven't done, and to go on yet another rant about them based on this, is a bit farcical, and dilutes the argument a bit imo.

LFC stopped being a club that had anything to do with the people the day they sold it to the Americans. The notion that the fans "own" the club is laughable.
