Sad to see such an important figure die so young. He did a lot for the progress of the gay-community in Ireland.

Lizt, it will be a media circus. Yes, he died. Im going over as a friend of his with his family. Learn the facts first before jumping to conclusions. Please.

Lets not rewrite history here he only came out after the Sun was going to run the story outing him. He didnt come out before as he thought it might effect his appeal.

Well as you didn't include that information in your post, how was I to know.

but i had no respect for him or any of the music he made or the whole type of entertainment he represented. to me he was just part of the machine that took quality musical entertainment down the gutter so far that we have to make do with 15 year old teens showing you their giant house on MTV.
if i was going on holiday and his death could effect my break id be more concerned about that then the feelings of over reactionary former boyzone fans

R.I.P Stephen.

Loved him when I was younger, used to carry a picture of him in my pocket and tell people I was gonna marry him.

Saw him back in May at the O2 and he was on top form, all the lads were, but Stephen doing his Beyonce piece was brilliant.

So sad to think he's gone now, thoughts and deepest sympathies with his partner Andy and his family

"tragically died is usually RTE code for suicide- and other reports are saying he went to sleep and didn't wake up, drugs involved perhaps?

Anyway, feel sorry for his family and friends but didn't know the guy. He had a good life but too short it seems.

Don't think he is the type to do drugs although I read on one website he had had a few drinks. Still think it was just an awful accident though.

Prior to coming out, no one new or suspected he was gay. No one knows if he was taking drugs or not.
I for one hope he was or had an underlying health issue.
People who just go to bed normally and fail to wake up ia a bit scary dont ya think?

My cousin fell asleep and never woke up. She was 21 so it can happen to pretty much anyone. It's very, very sad new. RIP Stephen. Thoughts and prayers with his family, partner and friends.

I thought it was fairly obvious from his post that he was a friend. But some people always have to assume the worst about others, don't they?

I'm really sad about this, I ran a Boyzone fansite way back when

and Stephen seemed like a lovely, genuine guy. RIP Stephen.

met him a number of times through work.... he was a nice guy - always smiling and always willing to talk to the press/fans...pose for pics.
