I don't think I've ever had pumpkin pie either. Or pumpkin in any form. I only recently got around to butternut squash!

Butternut squash is the gateway veg I use to convert veggie phobics. :D

Well as I said, there shall be pie a plenty Halloween weekend, if your free to make your way to Dublin.

Honestly, a pumpkin pie + me + a three hour busride = me, in dublin with an empty pie tin. Ommm nom..:pac:

That you do :) Fuzzy peach? As in, fuzzy peaches? The five-cent chewy candies sans gelatine? Ah, those remind me of baseball diamonds and summertime... heh. If you think those are good, you should try cherry blasters and sour patch kids.. swedish berries.. sour watermelons..
    Ah, I love *Allan's!

It's a travesty :(. Opening up a pie shop that exclusively sells pumkin pies is sounding like a better and better idea...

I just tried mayola (vegan mayonnaise) and I'll be darned if it wasn't delicious! I hate real mayo anyway and I admit I expected this to be disgusting, only bought it coz it was on sale. The brightly coloured stickers. They call to me.

it's good stuff alright, gotta watch your squeezing technique or it can go in very random directions

I find butternut squash too sweet, can't handle the soup made from it either.
    Will gladly eat your pie.

I may or may not have asked my brother to send over a sugary care package as a result of this thread... and the fact that Halloween is soon upon us.

Actually-- I have a couple questions about Halloween in Ireland, if anyone would be so kind as to offer up some answers!

Do children trick or treat here? I have noticed an astonishing lack of bulk candy in the grocery stores.. but want to be prepared for prospective kiddies.

How common are costumes on university-aged people? Adults?

Potato pizzas right, they're like mini pizzas except instead of pizza base you have slices of baked potato! I found the recipe online somewhere years ago, I kind of know it by heart though now so I don't remember where, possibly/probably fatfreevegan.com

    Oh! That poor kitty!

I wasn't actually thinking of a veggie theme though. My sister had a marvellous halloween idea... but it would only make sense to Galway people, or fans of Irish emo bands. Still marvellous though...
