According to F4WOnline.com CM Punk is in the dog house in WWE right now over something that happened on the most recent overseas tour.
Apparently this is part of the reason why WWE decided to open the Hell In A Cell PPV with CM Punk dropping the World title to The Undertaker.

Really? I did expect Taker to win it, but it was extremely strange that it was the first match on. I just thought maybe Taker was very tired and wanted to go back to the hotel early so he could rest in peace (sorry... I couldn't resist)

Wonder what he did. Lets face it, its not like he failed a drugs test or got drunk

    - Word going around the WWE locker room is that the reason CM Punk lost the World Heavyweight Title last night is because of heat on him stemming from an incident on the recent European tour.

The story goes that there was in issue with how Punk was dressed and The Undertaker said tried to nicely tell Punk that he was the World Champion and was representing WWE overseas so he should dress better. Punk said something to the effect of “what about John Cena?”

This got back to WWE management and they took it as Punk thinking he was a bigger star than John Cena. Then the decision was made to take the belt off Punk at Hell in a Cell and put the match as the opener. It is noted by Dave Meltzer that this may not be exactly how the story went down but it’s how it was told.

The problems with Punk and losing the title has been the talk of the SmackDown locker room for the past two days. As noted last night before the show, several on the SmackDown brand were under the impression that Undertaker was winning and he did. There are some who are wondering why Undertaker was given the title considering his limited schedule and health problems with the feeling that it was too soon to take the title off Punk.

Word is that WWE is planning on going with a Batista vs. Undertaker feud for the World Heavyweight Title.

Got this from another forum. I checked Wrestling Observer but they only seemed to have an audio thing related to this and I couldn't listen to it, so don't know how reliable this is

Thats why I'm very skeptical about that report. Its not like Punk said it in an interview or something. It was behind closed doors. Makes Taker seem like a bit of a snitching little b*tch too.

I'd much rather Taker and Punk go at it for another month. Why have Batista and Rey team up again to face JeriShow and then put Batista straight back into the title hunt when they lose one match. It also means, who do JeriShow go on to face now? 2 former world champions couldn't beat them

Christ if thats the real reason the belt was taken off Punk thats ridiculous, how does it make sense to strip a young, fit guy whos a great worker and put it on a guy who cant have a match longer than 15 minutes because of knee, hip and back problems and who's coming to the end of his career

TNA has signed A.J. Styles and Matt Morgan to new five-year contracts. Both still had time remaining on their last contracts, but TNA opted to lock them in long term.

Jesus, new and fresh feuds like hardy V Punk to old, stale shíte of Taker V Batista? In all fairness

Christ.... they seriously need to take a chill pill in WWE HQ. Well we'll know for sure this week on Smackdown. Punk is due a rematch, so either he takes it this week and loses, and gets pushed down to midcard, or they set it up as Punk V Taker (and possibly add Batista) for Bragging Rights

NB - did anyone say it was Taker who snitched to management? Seems a bit out of character, but there may have been someone with them.

I'd say Linda Mc's senate bid may have something to do with the prissyness. She's already getting heat from people and responding by emphasising the PG-ness of the company. John Cena's not an entirely apt comparison as he's actually clean-cut, really articulate and a pure company man. CM Punk looks, to quote my wife watching this week, "really effing ropey".

Much as I'd love to see Linda McMahon explaining the straight edge lifestyle and how Punk is really clean-living in a Republican primary, I doubt she fancies doing it herself. Is punk's title loss also the first hint of Linda's political career having an impact on WWE's booking?

Is it good marketing to promote Punk as the only straight edge World Champion in WWE history, does that mean everyone else was a beer swilling pill popping champ?

Also if I'm honest CM Punk looks the most likely person to be on drugs haha he looks out of it and like he needs a good nights sleep

Wait, if he's shooting in December, does this mean Orton will win at Bragging Rights and Cena will have to leave Raw?

For the love of God don't send Cena to Smackdown!

Well they have to set up Cena vs Taker somehow. I dunno Cena v Taker, Cena v Ziggler and Cena vs Rey would be great to see.

If Cena had been brought to Smackdown in the draft, it would have been awesome. But now that Batista is on SD too, I dunno.... Some guys who were getting great pushes might be getting pushed back down

sure Austin, Rock, Foley, Taker, HHH, Brock, Hogan, Eddie, Benoit have all been a part of some kind of beer bash celebration at some point, they've never made it a secret that WWE is pro-beer, the pills, not so much

anyone else think this might actually happen?

as in at Wrestlemania? for the title and/or the streak (depending on who has the title)?

all to set up the mass implosion of the Internet.

They have to do Cena v Taker at Mania next year. Taker does not have much time left and its easily the biggest match they could do on the roster. Although Hunter will probably decide him getting his Mania win against Cena back is more important.

It seems the rumor that CM Punk was stripped of his World Championship due to an altercation over the dress code is not the only story circulating the industry.
According to F4WOnline.com, another story that made rounds this weekend is that CM Punk caught heat with WWE officials for openly expressing the belief that he felt it was too soon for him to drop the World Championship.

While most believe the former--that Punk expressed "attitude" when Undertaker confronted him about not dressing like a champion on the European tour--both stories generally point to one thing: a negative reaction to an alleged attitude problem on CM Punk's part led to his being stripped of the title in the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view opener.

News on what supposedly led to CM Punk's title defeat has generated two contrasting reactions from the lockerroom. As Punk has a reputation for being a "heat magnet" with a contingent of the roster, some were pleased to see what they perceived to be his attitude catching up with him and resulting in a punishment. On the other hand, there was a sector that felt anything he might have done was too minor to warrant going against better judgment by putting the World title on a wrestler who is clearly not 100% and does not work most house shows.

Also, I didn't know Undertaker wasn't 100%. Hasn't he just come back from an extended period of time off? Is he injured again or something?

I think he had hip surgery during his time off, but is still moving a lot slower than normal. All his matches have been very short too. Possibly even why R-Truth and Drew McIntyre were added to Hell in a Cell, and why Orton and Cena will be having a 60 minute Iron man match. Means Taker can have shorter matches. Also probably why Rey and Batista have been added to the main event, means Taker will have less to do.

Absolute disgrace putting the title back on Taker again when it's clear he can't have proper matches.

As for Taker giving out to Punk for not dressing like a champion, so it's okay for him to "protect his character" but not Punk?

Exactly, Taker can dress like a biker and Cena like the worlds biggest 12 year old but Punk, who's all about metal and being straight edge is expected to wear a suit? ffs

I'm sure that when not representing WWE, Punk can wear whatever he wants. The two pics of Taker looks like he is in an airport terminal and possibly a restaurant (Wearing a Taker hat to a restaurant??!!) Anyhow, Taker has full creative control over his character and protects it better than most also.

Also wasn't this story found to be false?

Yes, it is in this minor thing called a contract where you sign that you agree to certain working requirements and conditions.

Now if you want to have a hissy fit over that go right ahead but so far the only thing the story has said was that Taker had a friendly chat with Punk about his dress code and that his answer some how came back to management (not stated to be by Taker which would be unlikly anyway). Management took it as Punk was getting to big for his shoes (i.e. he's not that big of a star yet to them and that he should not think he's bigger then Cena) and decided to bury him as punishment for it.

Now how Taker trying to help a young star to remain at the top and not draw wrath on him (lets face it WWE is not exactly known for their humble and intelligent decisions) can be warped into a rage about Taker I honestly do not know.

So Taker is now champ. But Why?

He's not well enough to wrestle, wwe is a global brand and needs a guy in a position to be a full timer as champ. Taker is an established attraction without the title.

Punk on the other hand has excelled on TV since he was champ. His feud with Jeff was great. His wrestling ability was often showcased in WWE but he was really showing his talking skills, even Vinny Mc was praising that quality lately. So I don't get why they have taken the title off him. Regardless of what rumours are out about his "Attitude" his work deserved more than a loss to an unfit taker.

    What do you all think?

I don't mind them putting the title on Taker if its just for the RIP tour...it's more or less his farewell tour imo and I can't see him retaining at Survivor Series. Its better than yet another Trips title run!

Nice one Brolly. I hadn't considered the tour at all. For fans over here it would be cool to see taker as champ.

Its not like he would not be their if he was not champion though, the thing is named after him.
The PPV after Survivor Series is TLC, would they dare risk Taker against Batista in that match?

All true, but it would still be pretty cool to see taker as champion!

Taker v Batista in TLC? That would be insane. They should Probably go with punk as champ going into it saying he will rid wwe of Batista like he got rid of Jeff.

Both Tista and Taker are very fragile and need to be protected as Mania will be on the horizon when that PPV comes around, so they will have to have Punk or even Morrison in it to take the bumps. Its a stupid PPV to do only a few months before Mania when youn think about it.

Punk as Champ v Jo Mo as IC champ in a TLC match. Can I order the DVD now?

I think he is more worthy than anyone in the WWE to have a tour named after him! And what better way to do your own tour than having the title!:)

Taker to keep the belt until WM, Cena wins the Rumble and challenges Taker, Cena wins the title and breaks the streak at WM and Undertaker retires....easy, isn't it? :D

    Hope it doesn't happen though.....
