opinions on sitting room colour please...?

Hi,
I'm planning on painting a feature wall in my sitting room teal, and as its quite a rich, dark colour I want to keep the rest of the room light, I was going to paint the rest of the room a pale creamy colour but dh thinks we shoud go for a light duck egg sort of colour - but I'm afraid that duck egg in a sitting room could be a be a bit cold...
What do you think would go best with teal in a sitting room - cream or duckegg??

I would imagine duck egg would be a cold colour unless you put it with a light lemon colour and it all depends what way your house faces, is the room north or south facing?? if its south the sun will be coming in the window and the duck egg shouldnt look too bad but if its north facing it will seem very cold.

The room is south facing so it's quite bright but I think it could still look cold - so I think I'll go with cream instead, thanks

we painted our bedroom duck egg blue its a great colour but it is a "cool" colour. The room has two large windows but even when its bright it still looks "cool". I would defo go with something warmer for a sitting room

Cream.otherwise it will be too blue with the teal colour.

personally i would stay away from the teal but have a look at raffia cream,and cookie dough or french cream as a feature colour
this may help you choose colours that are suited to each other

I painted the sitting room teal and cream and it turned out great.
Soundsham - thanks for the suggestion - the colour you suggested was the colour the feature wall used to be! It was that colour for 5 yars so I wanted something completely different
