Adding another to monitor to my desktop setup?

I want to add another monitor to my desktop computer. I think I only have one vga connection, can I use a Dvi connection?

I also understand that it depends on your graphics card whether or not a multi-monitor system is possible. I have listed my graphics card & current monitor below. I've taken this from belarc advisor. I don't think it can recognise the specific card. Would it be compatible?

ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series [Display adapter]
ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series Secondary [Display adapter]
DELL E176FP [Monitor] (17.1"vis, October 2005)

Do you want the monitors to display the same image or different ones ?

I'd probably want to use Dualview. So yes there would be different windows on the monitors. Say email on one, word / excel on the other.

Your out of luck then,I do know that Maxtor did a product that could do what you want,but its was expensive and is dicontinued IIRC

But,you could pick a cheap new card

That 4350 should do you,has 1 native VGA port and then all you need is a DVI-VGA adapter to use the native DVI port on that card as a second VGA port

Would that card be comparable to the graphics card I have now in terms of capability?

If you have either of the 3 cards you lised in your OP,the 4350 will kill them in terms of perfomance
