Best game ever? I seriously doubt it. Will it be good? It better be and the more I see of it the more I think it will be brilliant, although I heard the respawning enemies stuff is still in there :/

I don't want to put words in your mouth but I feel the likes of you and me will probably never see anything but an RPG as our absolute favourite game, no?

I for one just feel they are more complete.

I was disappointed with the middle of Uncharted - found it a little boring and repetitive. Loving the Beta however.

May pick this up early now.

Well my high water mark for this game would be Super Metroid :)

I can't really compare it to an RPG and be fair since they are different genres but I can compare it to action games.

I really liked Uncharted and I felt the only thing that let it down was the respawning enemies that ruined the suspension of disbelief and made the combat drag on longer than it was welcome. Other than that I'd say it was really very good, up there with something like PoP Sands of Time, a bit flawed but excellent none the less. I was just hoping they fixed the enemy spawning thing from the first game but they haven't. It's the only thing I feel will kep this as an excellent game for me but so very near an exceptional one.

Anyway I'm a bit wary of these 10/10 reviews lately especially with uninspired games like Halo 3 getting the same reviews.

The multiplayer is absolutely fantastic though, incredibly well balanced. I'd pay for that alone, never mind what is apparently a very impressive single player experience.

I wouldnt go that far, thought the mp is average tbh.

Well the suspension of disbelief was crushed when the
    monsters
    came into the game.

The spawning enemies didn't really ruin it for me, it made the game artifically longer but it wasn't like a COD game where you needed to progress to a certain point to make them stop, there was always a set amount.

Really looking forward to this game, don't really care about the multi-player experience though.

No matter how good a game is people will always try to knock it down and pick over small details. It seems people this gen cannot just enjoy a game for what it is....we have jibberish like "suspension of disbelief".

What interests me about the G4TV review is that Adam Sessler is can sometimes be a grumpy git in his reviews, finding faults with some of the best games about.

Hopefully, after 11 years, something will finally knock Half Life off my "favourite-game" pedestal.

I wanted to like the first game. I liked the look and feel of it a lot.

But the stupidly long fire fights got very tiresome for me very quickly. It certainly wasn't a small nitpicking problem for me, it ruined my entire enjoyment of the game. So if the sequel is the same then I'll probably be staying away.

I'm playing through the first one now for my first time. I'm about 80% done. At first i didnt like the long gunfights, but soon realised they were great fun, at first i used to stay in the one place and pick people off from there, but the best way to enjoy it is just go nuts. Run around hide behind everything, roll around, use gernades... I'm great now, a regular John McClane :D Cant wait for the second one now and i aint even finished the first :p

I have never played the first one so will pick it up because of your review alone. Plus it is cheap.

Uncharted's combat system was actually quite in depth and diverse. As you said you could just take cover and pick off your opponents but you could also go in with all guns blaring, quick throw grenades, use the surrounding environment (barrels, traps etc) and use hand to hand combat.

The system allowed the player to choose how they wanted to approach each fight. Its as boring as the player wants it to be basically. I'll be interested to play the stealth section of Uncharted 2 to see how it fits in and how you can use it during the game.

Thats it exactly. Make it fun, :D Also for a good while playing the game i actually forgot you could punch and kick, this breaks the gun play up nicely. If you can blaze through a few people and reach one and kick the crap out of him, it is so worth while, then take cover, blast a few more people........ ah crap, why do i have to work, i wanna go home :(

I just played the first one through last week, and really enjoyed it for the most part. One of the most solid single player experiences I've played in a while, but I would share some of the concerns others have pointed out - respawning enemies,
    the 'mutant' section
, exploding barrels left in ancient temples for some undisclosed reason etc... But despite these flaws I thought the game was simply good fun, and well aware of that.

I am very much looking forward to this one, and while I don't expect the best game of all time, I do admire a game that prides itself on providing a solid single player experience, and I'm looking forward to that (plus a good multiplayer would be a bonus, but I'd stand by the combat section of Uncharted being solid & enjoyable but the least involving element - the atmosphere, exploration and cheesy B-movie spectacle are more interesting).

The original is one of those games I wished I had the PS3 for... others being Valkyria Chronicles, LBP and MGS4 (that was just for you retr0:P)

With the price drop I'll be picking up the console this Christmas and really can't wait to play these 2 games. I watched a tech analysis on Eurogamer, a gameplay clip from a city... mindblowing!!!

not staggering by any means, but surely 8.0 cant be considered a bad review? 8 out of 10, thats good, only 2 wrong :p

You've also managed to pick the lowest score i could find for the game

    1UP.com 8.5/10
    Famitsu 36/40
    Game Informer 8.75/10
    GamePro 4.25/5
    GameSpot 8.0/10
    GameSpy 4.5/5
    IGN 9.1/10

You must also take into account that Uncharted was docked marks for no multiplayer by some reviewers. Uncharted was Kotaku's GOTY after Super Mario Galaxy.

Im waiting for the EDGE to give it 6 or 7 :D

I love the online was on last night shot 2 guys climbed up onto the roof found a desert eagle blasted 2 more from behind the wall ran out of bullets dropped that grabbed a ak47 shot 1 more a greande was chucked up beside me i ran and jumped from one building to the other just as it blew up, climbed in to the house ran to the back door spotted the guy who lobbed the grenade at me shot him jumped down to the ground climbed up into the lookout tower section got the sniper riffle picked off 3 guys before they riddled the area with bullets when they where reloading i jumped down and ran to hide behind a house. stood their and thought thats the best bit of action ive played in a game in a long long time .... got shot coz i was standing around thinking.

The game covers everything great single player, Co-op story mode for 3 players, Brilliant online multiplayer.

Its going to be one of the best games ever made. Does it deserve a perfect score ? i dont know yet. But since the Awfull Halo 3 and GTA4 got 10/10's this surely is worth a 11

    it's 89.64% on gamerankings.com, and that's based on 80 reviews.

    Not too shabby in fairness.

Looking forward to this, loved the first game with the exception of
    mutants, second jet ski level
    .

I hope the balance of cutscenes and platforming then combat this time around.
