The homeowner should have been sent one once they were approved for the grant.

I understand But this is SEI were talking about  i will email them now. You'd wonder why they don't have a downloadable PDF copy on site, unless I'm blind and cant see it?

Anyone want to scan one for me id appreciate it. It could be month before i hear back from SEI.

    Regards,
    S

When you get grant approval, they post you out a declaration of works form with your grant approval number, name, address and other details pre-printed on it. When the work is done, you get the contractor to complete the parts that certify the job is complete. This is what you need to send back to them and that's why you can't just download it. A scanned copy of somebody else's won't do.

Yes indeed. That is the situation as I went through this myself a couple of months ago.

If you do have any queries then you are probably better off ringing them - (01) 808 2114 rather than wait for an email reply.

I should also say, to give SEI credit where it's due, that in my experience claiming this grant couldn't have been easier.

I applied and got instant grant approval online. The declaration of works form followed by post within a week. The couple of queries I had were dealt with immediately over the phone by friendly staff who knew what they were talking about. When the job was done, I asked the contractor who was filling out his part of the form how long it was taking to process the grant payments and he reckoned about two months. In the event, I sent my form in on a Friday, the following Friday I got an e-mail saying my grant had been processed and was on its way to my account. It arrived the following Tuesday - seven working days, from start to finish, two of which were down to the bank payment processing and outside SEI's control.

    Job well done, SEI!

Has anyone any experience of SEI not paying the full grant? I did a before and after BER on a house that had internal insulation fitted. The contractor told the home owner that the kitchen was exempt because it was fitted and the back wall of the kitchen diner was also exempt because it was mostly glass (door, window and patio door) The downstairs party wall wasn't done or the landing or the outer bathroom wall.

I rang SEI helpline and was told all internal walls should have been done regardless.

I did my calculations and issued the BER cert so I'm curious to see if SEI will pay the full grant.

    Fully agree.

I found them more than helpful and never had to wait longer than 20 seconds to get through on the phone. Just a pity that other state agencies wouldnt take a leaf out of their book in relation to customer care.

I would love to give them credit on the emailing end of things but generally speaking i have had to wait months at a time for answers, (as have others) so i stopped and started ringing them and see to be getting a better responce :)

This is the same SEI (Paula Rice) that mentioned last night on Duncan Stewarts about the house that the cost of a New Build BER Cert is €100

Its of topic but it needs to be pointed out.
