    Apologies to all here if I have come across like a bear with a sore head.
    I love the Ah section and all who sail in her.
    I've had one of the worst, worst weeks in my life and so far its not over.
    I can be a right ranting gobscite but right now to top things off, I'm in the midst of a serious depression (work/stress/family health problems/death of a work college).

    Seriously, when some are really, really down, what do you do to cheer yourself up?

    Me me me, think about someone else for a change! Yes you may be feeling down but there are people a lot worse off than you. Now pick yourself up and get out and do something productive rather than looking for sympathy from the internet.

    You have a wife and kids, get off your arse and spend some time with them ffs!

    Write a list of 100 things you love and enjoy, it can be as simple as a nice compliment you may have got years ago or recently, or the fact that the weekend is coming, or you may just love to eat the sugary jam centre in a jammy dodger! Write down anything that makes you smile, and remember that things have a way of sorting themselves out! Be Happy, smile and look forward to the future when the hard times you are experiencing now will be a thing of the past!

    Of course it's hard to accept things that have happened such as the death of your colleague, but you must accept it, take time to mourn the loss of him/her and concentrate on the positives in life, have faith that things for you and your family will get better-because they will!

    PMA-Positive Mental Attitude-always remember that!:)

    Biggins, Don't change one bit, your passion for certain issues which I know are close to heart for you is inspiring. At least it is to me and i would imagine others.
    So don't apologise too much and keep fighting for the issues you feel so strong about.

    physical work that shows an actual result/ achievement (like attacking neglected sections of the garden with stress releasing implements like slash hooks, shears, saws, etc) followed by decent grub and a good nights sleep.

    Have some bitter chocolate instead , the higher the percentage of cocao, the better ...cocao makes you happy

    I hope you feel better soon.

    I spend time with people I care about and talk about what's going on. I always find it's easier to cheer up when you have people around to listen to you, give you advice and support you.

    Here's my suggestions, although with depression you just have to ride out the storm sometimes:

    * Pizza/Chinese/Indian/Chipper and a good movie.
    * Pints down the local.
    * A comfortable chair with a good book.
    * Retail therapy, buy something for yourself.
    * Holiday.
    * Go out for a meal with the wife.

    Basically it's all about escaping reality and getting your mind off things for a while.

    Everyone has their own different way to cheer themselves up. Whether it's talking to family/friends, writing down your thoughts, going for a walk, spending time alone etc.

    Hope things start to improve for you soon Biggins.
