I had this too. When I finished my registration though it worked. I heard my friend say that he thinks your e-mail account is frozen until you finish your registration.

If you've already paid your fees and it's still not working then I don't know though.
Have you gotten emails from DCU since? I only have the original emails, though I tried emailing myself and that worked :p

I sent ISS a quick email saying it wasn't working, and they fixed it the next day.

    Works fine now:)
    Yeah same.

And SMTP/IMAP work, so YAY for that.

Ok so I finally emailed them, hopefully I can get it sorted tomorrow!

I'm sick of that stupid bird lording it over me when I try to login

No none from DCU :P I e-mailed myself too and that worked. But I tried their instructions to getting my old e-mails from the old account. But it wouldn't work.

Has anyone else tried and has it worked?

Right my email hasnt worked the last few days, having worked originally, I'll have to send an email, what's the adress?

    Cheers

Nevermind, seem to have fixed it myself, it seems if I go through this page to get to the login page I can login. I had bookmarked the login page itself...

Don't understand it, but there you go.

Sure - it worked just fine. I had worked it out before they posted that, so it must be easy!

BTW, for those who want to have an equivalent to the old category system, you can use labels and filters:
    • First create your labels from the dropdown at the top of the page. For example, you could create labels that refer to the mails you receive, such as MSE, CA640, PG, MAT, etc.
    • Next create a filter to assign mails to the labels. Click on the "Create a Filter" link on the top of the page
    • Set the selection criteria, e.g. put [Dcu_pg] in the Subject field. Click on "Test Search" to make sure it works.
    • Click on "Next Step" to get to the next page, and select "Apply the Label", and select the appropriate label from the dropdown list.
    • If you want to forward the mail, check the box and enter the address.
    • If you have migrated your DCU Mail over to GMail, you can label these using by checking the "Also apply ..." box
    • Click "Create Filter" and you're finished

BTW, be aware that your Google docs may get much more publicity than you originally intended.

Has anyone else found the email client really slow and buggy to use. Every time I log in and try to either read mails, reply or really do anything I get 20 - 30 sec delays and lockups.

Very frustrating and annoying going from the old email client to being forced to use this google crap.

Actually you do exactly that. Just enable it in your DCU Apps account and then follow the same instructions you would do for Gmail.

Remember though that you have to use your full email address (Not your DCU username) and you have to use your original password assigned to you by DCU (If you have changed it) for POP3 or IMAP access.

    Hi

Trying to set up DCU Mail to be accessed by Windows Live Mail. I have attached a screenshot for the settings I need for either POP or IMAP.

    Any Ideas?

    Cheers

Was able to get my old e-mails in the end. Did the exact same thing as previous times. Don't know what was wrong before.
