Boat disposal advice

When I bought my house the previous owners left an 18 foot timber boat (no engine) on a trailer in the garden. I have tried to get them to remove it but they have now emigrated. The boat is not seaworthy and is beyond repair. Does anyone know if there is anyway to dispose of it (ie a boat breakers or council dump - similar to the council taking away cars). Happy to pay for its removal but want to make sure its disposed of properly/legally. Thanks

If its wood break it up and use it for lighting the fire in the winter. Plus im sure if you call your local waste disposal company (waste pal etc) they will take the lot for you at a charge of course.

If the trailer is any good someone will take it from you. try the buy and sell

Just a follow on, anybody know what the story is with disposing of old fibre-glass boats. Friend of mine has an old 18ft fibre-glass boat lying in his garden its totally useless, his cats use it as a shelter to give birth to kittens :eek:

If he gets a skip and throws it in, is that ok ?, not sure the local recycle centre would take it or maybe they would. He is getting varying advice some of it lunatic.

Ebay and call it a restoration project. You'd be surprised how easy it is

Why not stick a photo up here or any of the freeads.....?

I'm sure someone would take it away for nothing or even throw him a few quid for it if he asked.....

One mans rubbish is another mans.....rubbish (but years later :rolleyes: )
