I'm looking to get my first electric guitar, I've spotted this one I like, and it's in my price range. (It's hard to find one that I like, since I'm a left handed player)

I'm not sure what I should be looking for, but I've heard that IBanez are good guitars, and I like the look of it.

Is it a good guitar overall though?

    cheers,

    Kevin

If its your first electric guitar id recommend a yamaha pacifica. Quite frankly in my and many other peoples opinions THE BEST beginner guitar your ever going to get(I still play mine, albeit a bit done up 6 years after buying it as my first guitar). It will suit all genres due to its pickup configuration of humbucker(good for rock/metal) single coil single coil(usefull for rock/indie pretty much everything else).

Plus it comes in left handed too :).

If your in need of your first amp id recommend you a micro cube, it sounds awesome and it covers every style again(many guitar players with amps worth 1k+ will still use a micro cube as there bedroom amp) .

Best beginner setup ever(IMO) and its only 329 euro so it wont break the bank!

It wouldn't be my style, being white & metally, but that's besides the point! I bought an Ibanez from Thomann a few years back and it's a decent guitar... nice to play, nice action & holds the tuning very well.

    They're nicely priced too.

One thing I would note though - Thomann are desperate at getting guitars to you in good condition.. the first one they sent me had a crack in the neck near the body, the second one had a crack in the neck near the head. They did replace both, but only after sending them photos of the damage done & it took me over 2 months to get an undamaged model of the Ibanez I ordered from them.

I'm not the only one either - a friend of mine had the exact same problem. Don't let that put you off ordering from them - on price they are hard to beat, but sure you check it thoroughly & if it's your first guitar, get someone who's had a few guitars for a long time to do it for you, coz hairline cracks can be hard to miss.

Happened to a friend of mine too, sent him a display bass which had ancient strings and chips everywhere on it. They have also screwed up 2 orders on me but i got extra stuff outta it so it all works out. Plus there cheap. Id still prefer musicstore.de anyday.
