Do roof lights count as a windows in exempted developments?

One of the conditions of exempted developments is that "any window at ground floor level ... shall not be less than 1 metre from the boundary it faces". Does this include roof lights/windows e.g Velux? Would they too be have to be 1 metre from the boundary - effectively 1 metre from the gutter even if they are flush with…

This is a tricky one but assuming the gutter is on the boundary then your rooflights will have to be 1 metre away.

Its better to check this out with your local Planning Authority first.
