Im gonna go with Westport Co.Mayo
The main town is nothing special and a sewer of scum after 10 o'clock at nights on weekends. Out along the sea is lovely though.

I like Avoca's neighbour Aughrim better myself - at least it's not full of Yanks looking for Ballykissangel.

Hi all. Didnt really know where to put this so thought this might be a good option.

So, any ideas? Where might you think the most picturesque towns are in Ireland? What makes them so? I say this because I was in Avoca village in Wicklow yesterday, and coupled with the fine sunshine we are currently having, was just a picture post card of beauty!

So let me hear your thoughts

Inistioge in Kilkenny was a wonderful surprise when I turned the corner on a tour of south Leinster in the past year. It's the sort of place one would think of getting married in. Here's a google images search:

Op there can only be one winner it's Glengarriff.

Go there in late May to see the wild Rhododendrons bloom, take a trip to Garish Island. +1 on Carlingford also.

Was on the bus from Sligo to Cork a couple of weeks ago. Passed through Dunmore in County Galway. What a lovely little village. Not quite a town, but so picturesque. Beautiful little place. I'd love to live there.

When you google image 'Ireland' you get this pic.

Its called Allihies in west cork. Never been anywhere near it or heard of it but it looks wonderfully picturesque.

Yep it's lovely. Doesn't beat Glengarriff though. They're both on the Beara, so you should go see both IMO.

Yep, that's it alright. Have a friend of mine who lives there and she doesn't like it. I don't think she realises what a beautiful little place she lives in. If you look at it from the outside it's a lot different. I'm from the city originally though, so I see it differently. Gorgeous.

For natural beauty it has to be Cong in Co Mayo.

For man-made beauty its Adare in Co Limerick.
