Hi all. Didnt really know where to put this so thought this might be a good option.

So, any ideas? Where might you think the most picturesque towns are in Ireland? What makes them so? I say this because I was in Avoca village in Wicklow yesterday, and coupled with the fine sunshine we are currently having, was just a picture post card of beauty!

So let me hear your thoughts

The two boys have got it spot on. Carlingford is the answer to this question every single time. It's a place of rare beauty. As is most of Louth but Carlingford is probably the prettiest.

Forget about stealing his thunder! By deleting your post you've just made Pighead's last post look silly. Anyway your post was before his, so he stole your thunder!

Or maybe he'll put up a picture of the two of us frolicking through the Carlingford meadows hand in hand and then we'll both look silly. Probably best for us to back out of this thread now, never return and put the whole shoddy mess down to experience.

Killaloe/Ballina in C.Clare/Tipp is pretty, nice setting on the lake and it's got an ancient Cathedral.

Baltimore in West Cork is very nice too.

A lot of Co Clare is very pretty. Connamara. Some parts of West Cork are stunning. Union Hall/Glandore/parts of Schull. Just gorgeous.

Inistioge Co Kilkenny on the Barrow with its bijou square and riverside ramble is purdy.

Ballymacarbry in Waterford looks almost Alpine sited in the valley between the Knockmeldown and comeragh mountain ranges.
