I'd apologise quickly for that, or delete it if at all possible, not a good idea to be smart with the mods, just a word of warning.

Every advert in the lead up to this he's been muttering on about somethin to do with misdirection, i'm gonna go with that too!!

Those claims are just misdirection tbh :pac:

I can't wait till he explains it and someone who hasn't commented comes out with I knew it all along.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with free framing. If it was most of his stuff could be done that way.

I can't wait for the reveal

Unless lying is part of the illusion, it has to be something that anyone can do at home, and that more or less rules out all advanced television trickery or technology. My guess is that it's something far simpler.

At about 5:34, when he touches the first ball , number 23 kind of pops oddly... thought that was weird

If you notice he's quite clearly taking the numbers down from the screen and not from memory, i.e. he's never seen them before, he had to wait, or rather chose to wait, til they were listed in numerical order before scribbling them down. Doubt he spent the last year on some TV version of photoshop.

I've got the PDTV rip of that which is better quality than the youtube video and I've no idea what "pop" you're on about.

Also, he moves the balls in what looks to me to be a random way which would rule out projection unless it's the best projectionist in the world with the reaction times of a cat..

when the balls are being called out, his hand is covering his mouth and his mouth appears to be moving. also during this time his right hand is nowhere to be seen.

    between 4:10 and 4:50

I reckno this has something to do with it

Did any one switch to BBC1 as the can easily delay the feed that appeared on C4. I missed it :(
Yeah - pretty perfectly matched to BBC

He says he will tell all on Friday... here i come Barbados!

p.s. it was on C4, E4, More4 & Film4 (as the anouncer said - first time on "all-fours") and only about an 8-10 min show.

p.p.s - for me there is nothing behind him covering his mouth for nearly 20-30 seconds - I think he is naturally giddy and it is a simple reminder to him - STAY QUIET... people are watchin their lotto nums from BBC on C4

I seriously think Derren is above this level of basic camera trickery - you obviously dont get this guy...

Admission: If basic trickery of the camera type is it - then he has slumped to the level of a photoshopper making Sarah Palin look less like a pig. And again - I'm certain he is above this.

    [not you personally enfant terrible]

I doubt it, he's been really, loudly against camera tricks and the like before, he knows his fans would all be disappointed and annoyed if that's how he did it.

As for him revealing how he did it, he said it's something anyone can do in their home, so I don't buy their claims that he'll feed a load of complicated bull**** about how he predicted it, I expect him to admit he didn't predict it and instead used misdirection to convince people.

Derren Brown has traditionally been very well respected for pulling these things off and not bull****ting about how he did them, I don't think he'll switch to retarded video editing techniques now.

I said the same thing a few hours ago, that he wouldn't use camera tricks.

    Just posting their theory.

I'm going with a perspective illusion.

His movement is odd throughout the whole video.

He made a "balls" of the trick, if you ask me.

It's obvious after watching his adverts that he's dabbling in visual effects. The cgi cars etc...

I think the point of it was to make people believe it was real.

Did he say he wouldn't use CGI?

Derren was a magician before he is what he is now. The biggest names in magic rely heavily on camera trickery and misdirection.

I know how he did it.

2:27 Is the last time you see the left side of his face.
4:10 His right hand begins choosing each ball as it comes in order
4:50 Sixth ball is out, but the bonus ball is left to come.

He chose to only pick 6 numbers, as he needed time to put the balls back in his jacket.

5:12 He turns off the TV and while bending over loads his pants with the balls

5:16 does the hookie pokie and shakes it all about and drops the balls into the saucer shaped bottom of the stand.

    :D

He's generally come out against stuff like that, basically with the viewpoint that any retard with a small budget can make any stupid effects using CGI.
He says he'll explain on Friday how it's done and says that it's simple enough that almost anyone can do it; saying it's CGI, not explaining how he did it, or giving an explanation that wouldn't work in practise would make him lose a lot of fans and he knows it.

I'm curious to see how it's done, as I think he's above just usign CGI, although Captain Furball's theory makes sense to me, can't be bothered watching it again to find out but I do recall the right hand being out of sight for the whole lotto broadcast.

Just watched it. Here's my two cents

Look at the balls after he turns them around.

Look at the stand closely. The numbers are not written on the balls, they are written on the stand.

The stand probably has a wire attached to it,and a person with a button at the other end.

The person can press the button to get the number to flip over to the one he wants. Similar to an alarm clock mechanism.

Take a good look at the numbers at the end, they are not on the balls, they are on the stand.

think you may be right just noticed if you look really carfully at the 28 35 and 39 on the 'balls' you can clearly see a square outline around the number

but he moves them with his fingers, how thenn can they be on the stand and not on the balls

If it was real, why not do it an hour or 5 minutes before the draw?

Absolutely and when's the first time you can see those numbers?
