Don't know if this has been posted before - did a quick search and couldn't find anything....

Was in Tesco Killarney yesterday and they have the large tins of Quality Street, Roses, Celebrations all 'Buy on Get one Free' - ie €12.50 for 2! Great to stock up for Xmas - if they're not discovered in the cupboard and eaten by then!!

Tesco Tralee also have stock of this.

I saw these on Wednesday and availed of the offer :D
Also lunch meal deal of a tesco sandwich, bottle of apple/orange juice and a packet of Tayto for €2.50

By the way, the sweet offer was advertised on the TV last night for the UK. They go for £10 over there which is about the same (close enough) as €12.50 all things considered.

I'd stick them in a chest freezer till xmas, otherwise i'd eat them by halloween.

... some day the multi-national retailers like Tesco, Argos, Homebase, M&S, Waterstones, etc... will wake up and get better value from their TV advertising by using duel pricing in their ads (£10/€12.50) and co-ordinating their promotions across countries.

I suppose some day the penny will drop in the retail executives heads. (But I won't hold my breath) Until then it's great to see Tesco offer this in Ireland. Lets have more UK offers available in Ireland please.

    Great offer, thanks OP.

Question re freezing them - would this affect the taste of the chocolate after defrosting?

Not that I've noticed and I keep my choc stash in the freezer all the time. Creme eggs from the freezer. Mmmmmmmmm

I had a €5 off online shop voucher (see below), and a free delivery voucher, so I got the two tins for €7.50 delivered.

How did you do that? Was free delivery one voucher used when shopping and the €5 off handed to the driver?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,392 ✭✭✭TequilaMockingBird

No, both vouchers were given to the driver. I wasn't sure they would accept both, but it was worth a shot. €3.75 each - nice!

This is just tesco up to their old tricks again, inflating the price to make the offer appear better than it is. Theese tins retailed at €9.99 last year. Still a good deal tho but not much better than last year when they were 33% off at €6.99 each.

I caved in, bought two boxes, a "Quality Street" and a "Roses" today in "Tesco" on the Donore Road.

The expiration dates are next February and next April so I’ll try to resist the urge to have them all scoffed by Halloween.

as far as i recall, this time last year tesco were doing a similar offer (i bought loads of em), however last year the price was €6.00 each.

The €12.50 for 2 is still a good price though
