because that is the way Americans generally say it. September the 11th. 9/11.

We generally say the 11th of September. The other usage has crept in, at least in the wordy form, but Americans never say the English way.

As for the reasons the arabs picked 9/11. it was a Tuesday. The day with least traffic for that week ( the week before Tuesday was after the bank holiday Labour day).

They were reasy to go, they looked up flights on Travelocity ( which show the number of people already booked on the plane) and picked a day with less people on the plane as it would have meant easier control.

Now if they hadnt flown low enough to allow people to talk on mobiles their plan would have been perfect. MWhaaaaahaaahaha.

I like how the 9/11 + 7/7 conspiracyloons seem to not actually believe there are such a thing as right-wing fundamentalist islamists, and that 'the state' carries out these actions as 'false flag ops' for a New World Order. :rolleyes: times a million to be honest.

They take away from real politics, are a jokeshop, and damaging to 'the left' by attempting to get in the way of the many, many valid reasons to politically attack the nation states in which the attacks happened (not least economic reasons), and indeed the religious nuts who carried out the attacks.

Why do it on 9/11? Who gives a fu<k why they did it on the day they did it. Seriously.

Like that insurance claim that was put on the towers very shortly before they were blown up... Insured for about double what they were worth I think.

Oh, another group of nuts believe that there is no way that President Obama is not a Muslim, and he was certainly born in Kenya ( despite the short form birth cert, and the annoucement in the papers in Hawwaii etc.). Why? It is all on the internet.

What bugs me about this lunacy is this. There was a real conspiracy to get the US into a war with Iraq (once 9/11 had already happened), a funnelling of bad information from Douglas Feith's office to the President, ignoring the CIA etc.

The very existance of that conspiracy, however ( which is clearly complicated) removes the need for the 9/11 conspiracy since the event clearly didnt point to Iraq, but to where the terrorists came from - Saudi Arabia. That makes no sense if it was foreplanned to go to war with Iraq. They shouda "duped" 19 Iraqqis.

Anyway, the troofers are morons. But its like whacking a mole.

The fact you've mentioned 'Google' and 'facts' in the same sentence makes it impossible to take you seriously. What makes you think that the 'facts' you've found are any more credible than what the 'official story' is?

Arab names are quite similar. What do you think that "proves" by the way. Is it

1) The terrorists stole passports.
2) The great global conspiracy to get America into war with Iraq stole passports, but could only get Saudi passports. Everything else went off swimmingly, however.

EDIT: The insurance was doubled meme depends on a report that a guy called Larry SilverStein - who owned the site - was trying to get insurance to pay out for two attacks which would have given him 7 Billion, not 3 ( for one attack). As far as I can see he lost his case. So no actual change of policy in the days or months leading up to the attack, no link to the government, and merely a guy trying to get more money from insurance based on an existing wording in a policy.

ok. take this fact,which i read on the front page of the new york times in october of that year, about the 5 dancing israelis and the subsequent arrest by police of another group of israelis by holland bridge.
